Default Inuzuka Mezumi [Leaf Chuunin;]

Mezumi
mirage claw

- - -

Name: Inuzuka Mezumi
Age: 20
Height: 5'9
Rank: Chuunin
Gender: Female

Country/Village: Hidden Leaf
Division: Unspecified Division

Physical Appearance/Clothing:

An Inuzuka's pedigree is lined with the most ruthless of beings. The rabid traits those of this pack attain are usually there to only help their feral instincts. Their canine teeth and sharp fangs allow for the easiest of meats to be torn through, while their nails transmute into claws ready for the gutting. Mezumi, not unlike her kin, hold these truths to be self-evident. Even as her anatomy displays that of a human she posseses strengths regular homo-sapiens shouldn't have, as well as two vertical markings which hold extreme value upon her cheeks. They reveal that she is of the Inuzuka heritage--one of Konoha's prestigious families.

Natural femininity carries over into this powerhouse of an individual, in which you can see her beauty transcend through her lithe frame and powerful strides. Even her hair, which is usually kept cut at shoulder level and brushed straight, is kept in the kind of condition you would expect to see of a prize showdog. Pampered like no other, her dark eyes commit to her chosen career as an active member of Konoha's armed forces.

Though muscle is far from sparse on the body of the woman, the majority of it lies within her torso and lower body, a result of her practices in the famed taijutsu of the dog family. Everything about Mezumi screams red. Her lips are a naturally crimson hue which oddly resemble blood, and the clan tattoo's are of their original design--long red triangles that slightly resemble fangs. Her very gaze is penetrating--for someone who isn't frequently cheery there is a calm air about her. Nothing frightening and/or intimidating.

The standard attire for the woman include the regulation flak jacket which has included long navy sleeves for the females, as well as capri style leggings and zori with exceptional grip. Her hitai-ate is almost always tied into a double knot with long strands allowing it to drape down her kneck, and the various satchels placed around in her waist containing all of the necessary and optional equipment she chooses to carry along with her. When not on duty she prefers to lay back in something simple and relaxing, not doing too much. If it doesn't consist of helping out around the complex, then you probably wont see Mezumi there.

Personality:

Her languid expressions reveal that she isn't one who will openly go after what she wants, and this ties into her realist beliefs about the world and everything around her. Although Konoha is plagued with many optimistic shinobi, she is one of facts and tact. Should the logic appear that she isn't able to achieve something, she will not try to do so. She has grown up with the ideas instilled in her and so far they haven't let her down. Whatever Mezumi does is usually tied into a rank of exception. Some facts aren't so truthful when she is involved in them because she considers herself a breed unlike any other.

The true tie between a human and canine mind. And just like that of her followers, Taruso and Bitani, she considers them to be with her as the new installment of Inuzuka. An unprecedented breed of soldier--the normal human necessities are mostly ignored in what seems to be blatant neglect towards any mortal desires. But no matter how perfect she claims to be her flaws are more than apparent. In control of her emotions? Far from it. Her love for her life is rather minimal, however, like any true Inuzuka her family comes first. She often places herself in front of her dogs and acts as the human shield from all kinds of attack.

Belief in any kind of hope for mankind on its own has been drowned away, and she believes the only true answer to solve this violent cycle is for everyone to trust in nature to take its course. Men and woman will always fall to their own desires. Only when those desires are no more can they be deemed independent.

She isn't as cold-hearted as first glance would appear. She acts as a role-model to her peers as they see how her dedication towards her craft is never relieved. Even when she gives up a direct bout because logics claim she is destined to lose, she will soon resume on another path if it proves beneficial. But the human in her can't be so easily ignored. She is mortal and therefore she bleeds, cries, and becomes fearful. In these times where her humanity is apparent her mind will flood and her vulnerability exposed.

Her loyalty is a given, but it isn't to the village itself, yet her clan. Turning her back on them would mean to turn her back on her counterparts, and that would never be. The bond between human and dog can never be severed, even if they do often get into altercations which result in fighting and biting over the silliest of things. When partnered with her canines and/or family members a more dynamic side of the woman arises that almost seems inviting. And for the most part, she is. Just remember not to back her into a corner, or she will bare her fangs and show you the limits of her power.

The soft side of Mezumi is only revealed in the comforts of her home, and it is where the majority of her smiles and laughs arise from. As someone who doesn't particularly like the taste of grease on her meat, she will eat any kind of meat so long as it is not processed. And knowing the nature of things from her own experience, she refuses to spar and/or train with anyone of a lower calibur than her because of how it reflects on her and her tendency to get a little caught-up in the flow of battle. When her adrenaline starts pounding is when this bitch truly gets started.

Taruso
labrador-collie lurcher

Name: Inuzuka Taruso
Age: 7
Sex: Male
Weight: 53 lbs.
Height/Length: 3'2" / 4'9"

Physical Description:

A brilliant gold coat covers Taruso's entirety, with a light streak of white scanning across his spine and traversing all the way to the top of his head, stopping once it reaches his nose. He is a heavy sighthound and rather bulky, giving most people a hassle should they try and lift him over them. His size isn't anything spectacular but he is large enough to fit a medium sized human on his back without much problems, so long as they hold on tight. His tail was cut as a pup and so nothing remains but a stub, and nothing seems to come from this canine's glare other than an occasional hunger which he satiates through the hunt.

During the process of the Juujin Bunshin technique, he stands at a towering height of a usual six feet, only slightly taller because of his stance, garbed in shinobi attire with a steel chest plate hanging off of his shoulders. His ominous presence is only magnified by his visage which seems to imitate that of Mezumi's, yet much more fearful. His eyes--which are still their normal dull azure--hide under the shadows of his bangs. Despite what most people assume his vision is astounding, being a sighthound, and his strength is growing although nothing to tremble at, just yet. You have more things to worry about with Mezumi and Bitani.

He becomes an effeminate human whose Tsuuga is rather wide and because of this, much harder to avoid compared to their collective efforts. With his light tone hanging on the fringe of gray, Taruso is a menace. Intimidating with or without chakra application.

Personality:

You could consider Taruso a manifestation of Mezumi's independent side. He is a hunter, who eats nothing unless he's deserved it, full of pride and courage. Though he too knows the odds are usually stacked against him, that doesn't keep him from trying to overcome them. He doesn't like to play around with anybody other than Mezumi, as he considers her his only superior, and will often bite anyone else who comes into his personal space without proper notification. When not under Mezumi's orders or out on the hunt for his meals, he likes lounging back in the Inuzuka complex and watching how other pairs work together.

He doesn't despise his Juujin form, but prefers his canine form over all. Unless ordered to he would enter the battlefield and then remain there in his lurcher form, where he assumes his skills are at their prime. However, he recognizes the advantages that come with a human structure. And despite his big and burly alpha-dog nature, his one and only true acknowledged rival would be a bear. He wouldn't consider you a threat unless you posed an obvious danger to him or his family, or had the physique of a big grizzly bear. Nothing else, nothing less.

And he hates things who are too cheery, giddy, and friendly.

Bitani
silky terrier

Name: Inuzuka Bitani
Age: 9
Sex: Female
Weight: 18 lbs.
Height/Length: 1'8" / 2'5"

Physical Description:

Bitani is a small, precious little terrier whose curly coat of hair shines even in the absence of light. Her eyes are black as well which hide well against her fur and though she is larger than some of the other terrier's she was bred with, she is nowhere near Taruso's size. In fact the most she could carry without weighing her down would be a pack of small projectiles strapped to her back. No matter the situation her mouth is usually always open, panting in excitement while her tail wags back and forth on the most spontaneous of times. Her mannerisms make her Taruso's opposite, which furthers their love/hate relationship.

During Juujin Bunshin form she, being a female, imitates the anatomy of Mezumi to a tee. But for some reason, even though the chakra applied has been used to a perfection, it is easy to tell the two apart. Where Mezumi will seem void of emotion, Bitani looks to have an abundance of it. Glee, sorrow, whatever she feels can be told on her face. To humans she is extremely attractive, and has been approached many a times by other shinobi as they plea for her name. Surprised to be licked on the face by the girl, they often become ecstatic until they spot Mezumi coming behind her and realize that this was the work of the trapbeast.

The picture above doesn't show it but she too holds the same tribal markings on her face as Taruso and Mezumi, as Mezumi believes all Inuzuka should.

Personality:

The opposite to the lurcher above, Bitani is a naturally cheerful terrier with a heart of gold. Her intentions are always beneficial to someone else, and she isn't one to hold grudges. You could be hitting her one minute, say sorry, and find that you're the target of the dog's affections. She's rather feeble minded this way and will usually tend to treat an opponent as an ally should they simply apologize for anything they've done to her. However, if Mezumi has given her a command, she will act on it relentlessly. She would go as far as attack everyone in sight so long as her 'master' said so.

She's not a picky dog and will eat just about anything, unless its sweet, in which she will neglect with all of her might. She uses her sense of smell instead of sight to her advantage, and will often track the whereabouts of others despite where they are. She takes Mezumi's trait of dedication and uses it to making the woman happy. Letting her down is one of the many things she tries not to do, as it would make her look bad in front of Taruso and it would surely upset Mezumi. One thing she doesn't want to happen.

Not always in her Juujin form, though, she is in long enough for you to notice the extreme dynamics the two canines portray with each other. Where she is Yin he is Yang, and she views Taruso as the malice in their relationship. Her transformation is simply so Mezumi would acknowledge her more as an equal, and to rub it in his face how well she can imitate perfection.

Bitani is always looking for friends and is considered a manifestation of Mezumi's dependent side, in where she often barks and wants to play with everyone. She voices her emotions without fail to make sure everyone knows where she's coming from at all times. A trait some say a little too advanced for a canine. But she is an Inuzuka. What would you expect?

Biography:

The body of a beautiful mind lay dormant within the coffin of adolescence, taken hostage by the multiplicity of consequences depicted corrupt. To a child with not much pressure being bound on them it is an unusual burden to be withstood. Inuzuka Mezumi rested blindly in a field of bullshit shoveled in her way by villagers building their opinions in others' heads, and what would be her teachers that came with the overwhelming opt of being a shinobi. Of course that's not saying that she was forced into this lifestyle.

It's just that peers and paths made it predominantly aware that one of her choices in life was to become a warrior fighting for a nation. She stuck to the status quo like many another and has lived a full and speeding life. Her decision was null and void as far as childhood went, as she was forced fed all of her mother's notions and beliefs. Inuzuka Ikkicho was the mom to know in times of desperation. Though she held close to the belief of there being only one god who was the strongest of divine, and preached it to you so as to open your awareness about the hell chasing the life of impurity, she would aid your ailments with an inaudible augmentation of your soul. So long as you were willing.

Independence--as Mezumi would give her last breath for--was a rare option in her book. So a couple of paths were laid out with the adolescent to make sure she understood just where her mother was coming from--and a strict mother like that knew just the right tactics to get anyone to follow in the shallow footsteps of her decisions. Ikkicho engendered three rules in which she kept packed tightly into each breath. The three rules weren't so much a set of guidelines than they were a set of requirements.

Mezumi needed to respect her canine counterparts. She also needed to get a job if she wasn't enrolled in school. But most importantly, she was to provide some kind of beneficial support to the country as a whole.

Ninja wouldn't only honor the veteran of war, it would glorify her. It was an obvious choice for an Inuzuka. But as a girl of maturing frames and a busting lifestyle it wouldn't be as glorifying as it seemed. The chronicles of Mezumi: ?€œShinobi Destined?€?, was a tale of filling feasts that satisfied every ache of suspicion that arose. But, in opposition, this re-imagining of the tale doesn't have the many stories the woman could deliver to you with beaming vivacity. Only short excerpts of accounts that she would feel to be important.

- - -

She loved him.

Black scorned in the tinge of a crimson reality adorned the expensive garments worn by the woman, as she inhaled misery and exhaled blood. From a crouching position she looked up into his glowing eyes and froze with fear.

The blade didn't deter her, and his countenance of someone dear to her wasn't interfering. But his chilled words tore through her monotone frame and drenched her in a frost. As the night fell around her so did her guard, and thus he struck. Starving, desperate, and unsatisfied, she rocked to her feet just in enough time to catch the blade to her chest. She spat up even more blood as a sign of a major organ being pierced. But as he twisted the blade before sharply pulling out of her it was as obvious as it would ever be.

Her love for him had been destroyed. As her sights closed on his face while he mindlessly grinned at her demise, she would release any ideas of them ever being a valuable item. A pair.

Awaking in white with a face looking down on her, the same face from before, only this time smiling with an innocent light illuminating him. An arm reached down on the body of the girl as she looked around but saw nothing but clouds. She took his arm and was lifted up and onto her feet. Given time to stretch those limbs of hers and be truly awoken.

"Damnit, Rowashichi-Sensei! You caught me in your genjutsu again... I thought you had really killed me that time." He smiled. She smiled. Her very first session of shinobi training ended, with her new instructor, fresh out of the academy.

Teammates of little to no importance to her at the time surrounded her with their stretching gazes and humming convoys, resembling the formation of a true platoon. Then there was five.

- - -

"Is Bitani wearing a tank top?" Those would be the last words Mezumi would speak that day, as her partner in crime climbed onto the edge of the riverbank and stared into the water flowing past her with endearment. Mezumi grabbed her shoulders and slid down into the fetal position under the shade of an oak tree as the team took what would be called a break.

She stepped back away from the edge in all of her fabulous fashion and everyone took a sigh of relief. And then seemingly out of nowhere--"Arooo!"

Water gushed from the river as she rotated as fast as she possibly could and leapt into the air in her large drilling form, pile-driving into the water as if to train her taijutsu attacks. And as a large wave overlooked the three other members of the platoon they could only grit their teeth as they stared demise in the face. "Damnit, Bitani..."

- - -

Soggy apparel and outstretched claws were held out in the darkened, raining skies, with all but one other person there to acknowledge it. Pushed and prodded to become stronger, more efficient, she was forced to the brink of tears and then thrown over it the longer her sessions would continue. Not only would she come to know the ins and outs of useful Inuzuka combat techniques, Mezumi learned more about her natural body and its weakness.

With a staff in one hand and a sullen tone of restrained care, Ikkicho beckoned the genin to get up now or forget her career as a shinobi. And the girl knew that if tested her mother would like nothing better but to have an honest reason to forbid her from pursuing to become yet another statistic out of her family's reigns.

Most of the Inuzuka weren't as good as others, as useful in everyday things as well as they were utilizing their dogs for support. And those that did weren't doing more than something to stereotype the entire clan with. Grooming and veterinarians. Nothing ever out of the ordinary, and nothing that would single-handedly bring the economic stature of the village crumbling. Their role as shinobi was just as important as was the safety of everyone in the village.

She had to get up off the ground and she had to keep going. Her lessons read that she wouldn't be free from the torrential torture until she could physically take no more. Bitani arose by her side panting with an uncharacteristic face held.

"Koi." Her nails gripped the earth and scraped the mud into her palm, which pressed out of her fingers and fell to the ground it was stolen from. Mezumi stood and inhaled deeply. She came at the woman in her early fifties with the intention of finally getting some well-deserved rest.

- - -

"I'm a chuunin of Konoha! I've done everything you asked for whenever you asked for it, but you still aren't pleased? You say you're disappointed?!"

"In reaction to the way you are acting and the way you've been acting, you've been very displeasing."

"I'm practically your damn servant, Tou-san! I never get any friends outside of the clan and--"

"You don't need any." She replied with an abrupt demand. Even in its suggestive tone it was nothing less than an order from a retired veteran of the force she existed within. That very reason should have quelled any obligation to argue the fifteen year old should have had. But as a growing pup she would find things out the hard way.

Mezumi resisted and felt a firm foot planted in her back. Kicked out of house and home all because of a recent call to duty, the newly appointed chuunin of Konoha and finalist in her generation's Chuunin Exam was without house or home.

On instinct she roomed up with her fellow female teammate. Of course the two didn't have many things in common, but their love for raw meat and lounging around on a nice bright day, relaxing, kept a taut string on their titles as friends. She cried and even displayed all five stages of grief after the truth of her dishonorable act actually settled in her.

Two weeks later and an apology spat, she returned to the blatant life she had expected hers to evolve into. She maintained normalcy in times of war and escalated like any other person of 'talented' origin, making sure to help those on their way down who helped her on her way up. But this would be the first of many arguments the daughter and mother had as their views began to contradict each others'.

- - -

Mezumi, as the fall-back girl of her group, always kept herself lightly packed with weapons. Her aim was never to hit someone with long-range weapons, therefore she never strapped herself with bountiful projectiles. The practice of using them was instilled but as a personal weapon of choice they were clunky and unnecessary, given she was never exceptionally good with such things.

Along with proper and excessively durable clothing she brought on a chest plate just for added defensive support which became a signature piece of clothing for the newly added Taruso, recent addition to the Inuzuka's family. He was bred to be a dog of strength but never had worked with Bitani, who had seemed to always come up to him and smell him. He hated it and would attack, forcing Mezumi to solve the conflict forcefully. The moment he was bit by those human fangs was the day he became infatuated with the woman's power, and stunned under her strength. With added assistance from two cunning minds she would be a blossoming body of fierce on the battlefield.

However, others were scared. Even after being risen to the rank of chuunin for exceptional work, she never understood why Kyu would always be so shy and unadventurous. His style of speech was a combination of metaphors and similes which confused the mind and left it dazed--just like his graceful taijutsu and exploding strikes. The typical load for a strenuous mission was twenty-five pounds. But Kyu (who was scared), carried thirty-five pounds of inventory and miscellaneous equipment when he died, plus the flak jacket and plated bits of armor and rations and water and toilet paper and all of the rest--plus the unweighted fear.

He was dead weight. There was no twitching or flopping. Kisaki, who saw it happen, said it was like watching a large oak tree fall. Just boom, then down--not like the media where the dead guy rolls around and does fancy spins and goes ass over teakettle--not like that.

It was a bright morning in mid-April. Mezumi felt the pain. She blamed herself while stripping Kyu of his equipment, canteens and ammunition, and all the heavy things. They had to salvage as much as they could with this loss because of the fact that this mission was bigger than them and their ongoing bond. It was that day, in one of the last ones she would have as a child, that she learned that what she had been doing for six years was something of responsibility.

After a successful overturn of a small killing camp and the evacuation of a rich nobleman's kidnapped step-daughter they were allowed to return to the village and give the news to Kyu's parents. Then Rowashichi was next to know. Mezumi and Kisaki looked at each other and dressed their best friend in all black, following themselves. Then there was three.

- - -

"What do you mean?"

"He killed a deer!"

"Is this true, Taruso?"

"Yes ma'am."

"You were told to stay away from the Nara compounds and their animals, and yet to continue to chase them into their lands to kill them. You're going to wind up hurt, little boy. Or worse. Dead. I forbid you to go back there ever again. Do you understand?"

"Yes ma'am. I'm sorry for any inconvenience."

Mezumi Exits

"... That's what you deserve."

"You bitch. Cross me again and I'll place you where I put the deer carcus."

"Mezumi! He's threatening me again!"

"Ugh!"

Onlookers observe the two canines fight, after catching onto the entire ordeal, and wonder what the hell just happened. Their lack of Inuzuka lineage leaves them unable to translate the canine dialect that into proper english, and therefore are astonished by how random all of it seemed. Another day in the life.

- - -

Everything decided to drop in positive values and rise negatively, with the only semi-positive achievement being her rise into adulthood--she was growing. But this was a couple of years back.

Was it natural for someone of such powerful standing to feel so weak and unimportant? Her recognition had never been much on the part that she was an Inuzuka female. Most things that came about both her gender were insults, not praises. But ignorance will always be ignorance. Along with maturing enough to handle the change in council of Konoha, she sought out counseling from her mother and even the Inuzuka elders, as to how she was to deal with all of the stress and its ominous presence in her life. Inquiring about a way to rid herself of it was the only solution left.

So picture her response as she was told that there was no such way. The only possible solvent for such a problem was to become refined. Her maturity in mannerisms and rank was an added bonus but true elitism came from being a master of your craft. And a master shinobi is brought down by no emotions no matter how severe. They always find a way to overcome.

But as human beings... there could be no other way to solve a problem but to withstand it?

She wasn't supposed to be elite. Was she? Becoming numb to certain things just didn't fair for her as you would have thought they would. She had never met her father due to his own health complications during her birth. Yet knowing he died while she was so young is still enough to bring her to a silent contemplation.

A way to bring the pressure away from her was to hide it, which resulted in her often silently thinking while grooming or feeding Taruso, who was also silent most of the time due to his own delusions of elitism. Soon she grew to the point where things like this didn't matter to her any longer, only what she could do for others. Complications arose throughout her life but she never let it stop her.

- - -

A nation abandoned by a reckless Hokage fueled flames Mezumi didn't even know she possessed. Heat motioned from her body despite her lack of spectacular katon rendering. No matter how much heat she would conjure, however, she couldn't burn through the snowy terrain that followed the war against Yuki--the "Shattered Silence?" forced the emotionally weighted woman to endure the pain she had been trying to avoid.

Deaths had been of her cause before but they had been done out of rage most of the time, which helped wash away the thoughts of gloom with those of rage. But when you have to kill the opposition no matter the age and reason, it gets a little sad. She had always been one of the people who opposed fighting the weak unless you were the weak, in which case to give it your all. However, spears and lances thrown at her and her group with chakra activation from a band of scared genin wasn't exactly what she had in mind. A couple of superficial injuries on their end before they decided to stop wasting time and proceeded to blow them away in a storm of rampaging taijutsu attacks and ninjutsu coming from the left and right.

Bitani and Taruso stalled for time while Kisaki and another raided a fort, leaving the Inuzuka to spill her thoughts to her childhood love and mentor, Rowashichi. But what was supposed to be a little accidental spill turned into a severe case of word vomit, where she only stopped to wipe her mouth or truly reflect on the situation's severity. They escaped, stealing plans for a potential ambush on one of the platoons from their flank from the bunker, and heading to the aid of the other team.

Her night ended with her going to sleep in a bunker seized by Konoha with the thoughts of war's bravado breathing down her neck and the look on her mentor's face as he watched one of his friend's student carried off by a group of medics past the front line to a place where his wounds could properly be treated. He would make it--but a coma was hardly something to rejoice about. You would think surviving a war would give you bragging rights. But its only true present is the realization of how short life is. Take it. Enjoy it. Mezumi did.

Um, Narf. I know Inuzuka dogs are a little special, but you may want to get the height/weight relationships in check. A 1'8" high dog that weighs 172 lbs. would literally just roll around on the ground. More likely, however, is that it would never reach that size.

EDIT: In fact I am doing my part to impose a tentative disapproval in place until such is changed. That dog would be like a microwave that weighed 172 pounds. But all flesh.

Jami Edit: Also, that's not how the bunshin technique works. It makes them look like the owner with some doggish features, not like fully separate humans. All three would look almost the same under the influence of the jutsu, distinguished enough to tell one from the other but not having fully separate, divergent appearances.

Dealt with the edits mentioned above. Deleted the error with the weight and just deleted images of their juujin forms since I couldn't find an image to represent a male version of Mezumi (she'd look like Sasuke anyway).

Your dog still weighs 214lbs, Bull Mastiff's weigh 80lbs. I think you should look at dog weights a bit better...less you want this to be your Inuzuka dog.

The dog's weight is still a problem. That, and there is still an issue that is mentioned in the clan information that needs to be addressed. You need to read back through it and fix it. You're missing a very key piece of information for an Inuzuka; one word that every one who is applying must have.

100 lbs. for a lurcher still seems really, really damn heavy. Lurchers are sighthound crosses. They have sort of whippet-slash-greyhound body-type going on.Even with a lab mix thrown in there, it still should not be no hundred-pounder unless it is very overweight.

To avoid this going back and forth, someone who knows should just tell him what weight to give the dog, because it's becoming clear Narf doesn't know what a good proportionate number would be.

Appropriate weight would be in the 50-65 pound range. Google yields great answers.
