Etsuko straightened her back, doing her best to ignore the golden runes that covered the room. She was acutely aware of the fact that she had found dried blood in the middle of some sort of runic circle, and that she had heard a noise on the other side of that door. With great care, she returned the camera to the pouch at her side. In it's place, Etsuko held one of her hand blades.

The torch in her other hand flickered as she stepped closer to the door. The torch was her own and as she looked around the room, she found that there were no other torches in the room, and no sconces in which to place such a flame.

How would someone see enough to write these?

A great silence awaited her in the room, only the sound of her flickering flame able to be heard. With a push of her hand - the one holding the torch - the door without a doorknob creaked open to reveal the start of an empty hallway. Etsuko's torch lit the entirety of the hallway, which held no other doors. It's only destination was a door-less threshold at the end of the damp walkway. No sconces lined these walls.

At the end of the hall, Etsuko heard what she had sensed in the room. A metallic, uneven clicking sound. It sounded like a pick chipping away at stone. The woman with the turquoise hair didn't bother to call out for the Naga again. This was not the sound of the Naga.

Her chakra activated beneath her feet, creating a negative magnetic force which caused her feet to hover an inch above the stone floor. This was a gentle form of levitation, that gave Etsuko's movements even more poise. It was with this that she moved silently towards the threshold at the end of the hall. As she grew closer, she saw that the threshold opened up into a large circular chamber with remarkably high ceilings. They must have descended deeper into the earth than they had originally thought.

Amidst the shelves of tomes lining the curved walls and the large circular table at the center of the room, Etsuko saw the strands that she had seen in the entrance of the Ruins. They were the silk of a spider, but their translucency was replaced by the shimmer of gold. Every few moments, Etsuko heard the sound of the pick clacking against the wall again.

As she filled the threshold with her body and saw the chamber in it's entirety, she knew it to be the center of the tunnels, with six other thresholds like the one she was standing in around it's circumference. But her focus was brought upwards, to where she heard the clacking sound originating. Etsuko caught her breath.

The only sound she heard was the clattering of her torch upon the ground. The light flickered, as if daring the room that it would leave it soon in darkness.

Magnetic Levitation Activated.

Traversing through the candle lit ruins was definitely a hassle. The bouncing flames on the walls started to strain Sengo’s eyes as he continued on his journey. A few seconds into the long hallway he was met with the strange, arcane, and golden scriptures that lined the walls. They shined brightly despite the lack of light; as if they were even glowing. Sengo was amazed at this place and he was willing to stay there despite the haunting residents.

The hallway continued for what seemed like miles. However, soon enough he came upon a door. It had no doorknob and would be considered a wall if not for the outlining and hinges. Pushing forward Sengo was introduced to a new room.

This room was lined to the ceiling with tomes and scriptures. It seemed that Sengo had found the library of the ruin. Sitting himself down on at a table etched out of what seemed like old tree bark, he began to read from some of the scriptures. A quick glance had proven fruitful as the contents of the book were that of Naga writing.

Taking as many as he could carry, Sengo set off to find his partner. A distinct clicking sound rang throughout the corridor, and as Sengo got closer, the clicks became more vibrant. It was an interesting type of sound, like a pick against a stone. A little weary of what he was aout to encounter Sengo readied himself the best he could.

Creating a few hand signs smoke began to billow out of his clothing. They began to grow in form, and soon enough took the appearance of Sengo. Pushing the last stone doorway out of the clearing he came upon a room. It was an interesting room, it held many tomes, seemed to have a high ceiling, and had many different entrances. It looked to be the center of this ruin’s maze like structure. However, the most interesting things in the room were his partners, who seemed to be stunned in fear.

Confused Sengo took a moment to follow her eyes to the ceiling of the room. There atop them was a large golden web, larger than the ones they had encountered earlier, and for good reason. A massive spider rested upon it, though this was a special breed; the kind that had a woman sticking out of the thorax of the arachnid. It was huge, towering at least fifteen feet tall and twenty five feet wide. Its legs were sharp and had spines on them for defense. Its teeth were at at least two feet in length and dripped with corrosive saliva.

”Etsuko! Come here!” Sengo stated. It seemed they would have to face this beast together or die.

Suddenly before anything could be done and the last words from Sengo left his mouth, a heavenly voice rang from above them; the voice of the woman they had seen earlier.

”Please, do not fear me, I only wish to keep you here with me; I promise I can show you everything you want to learn Sengo. Etsuko, I can teach you the true nature of what you desire.” The monster stated in a deceiving manner as it began to descend on the two; plus the seven clones of Sengo.

Etsuko barely noticed Sengo when he appeared in a threshold opposite her. Staring up at the demented body on the ceiling was frightening. Suddenly, the woman with the turquoise hair understood where the blood on the floor had come from. That huge set of schema had been made to create this monster.

In truth, the torso and head of the woman had been beautiful once. She had long jet-black hair, which fell about her naked body strategically, to cover parts her exposed breasts. Her skin had grayed from years in the cavern. Her facial structure was sharp and symmetrical, but where a pair of eyes should have been, four pairs were now there, arachnid sensory organs spliced onto the top of her face.

In many ways, she looked like a healthy and strong woman. Perhaps she had once been a talented shinobi, or a capable medical shinobi. But somewhere, she had gone wrong. That somewhere was around her midsection, where the spider's body began. Their connection did not seem like a body part was sewn on, or even fixed with Chiyute. It was a sort of blending amalgam of spider and woman that started at the waist, and seemed to have no true beginning or end. Which had come first, the spider or the woman?

She heard Sengo's voice and looked across the room to catch his eyes. That was when the woman had begun to speak, her voice as scratchy as the walls of the cavern. She promised she could teach her the true nature of her desire. Suspended by a thick gold thread, the body began to descend slowly, clearly more sentient than the beast that Sengo had presumably dealt with. Etsuko was still subduing her sense of shock as she thought about why she was there. She was here for Nagai, and vicariously for Sakoshi. But none of this spoke to her true nature. She wasn't here for herself.

"You can show me nothing. Nothing but the deep corruption of a soul." Etsuko's Mugenkugan spun, her eyes turning into those golden cogs. Even through her doujutsu, she had a hard time discerning truth from the spider-woman. She did not know what she was, but there was no room for diplomacy. Etsuko knew deep within her that she had to kill this beast.

"But I may show you the sound of lightning. Etsuko brought her hands together in a quick series of seals, ending in tori, the seal of the bird. It signaled one of the most powerful genjutsu in her arsenal, but even Etsuko couldn't hear it. She could only watch the woman's face as it widened in anticipation. It could hear the sound of hundred of hummingbirds, and soon the woman would endure the illusory pain of Denkou Hachidori no Jutsu.

"What?! What is this, Etsuko?" The woman from Cloud furrowed her brow as the spider-woman began to scream as she endured the sensation of lightning drilling into her stomach.

How does she know my name? Etsuko stared hard at the woman as the strange beast glared at her, hissing and spitting spider venom. The venom spittled out on the floor of the large room. Etsuko, meanwhile, had picked up the torch, and placed it upon a nearby stone table, it's flame lighting further upwards.

As she released her grip on the small hand-torch, both hands came to grip her handblades as the beast stopped descending slowly. Severing her golden strand of spider silk, the spider-woman fell to the floor, her ferocious looking legs making tiny cracks in the floor of the cavern. She had changed her stature to protect the spider's large underbelly.

It seemed the battle was only just beginning.

”I can show you love, I can show you power, everything you have ever wanted could be here in your arms. All you have to do is accept my offer. Etsuko, you can have your arcane materials you desire, and Sengo, you could learn so much in my world.” The spider woman began to speak as a last ditch effort to stop whatever was about to unfold.

However, Sengo was not willing to just give in because of lies. It was obvious that if they did not defeat this woman that they would end up like the test tube baby he had fought earlier. This was a hellish place and there was no way Sengo would end up being controlled by a spider on his back.

”I have found what I was looking for spider-lady. I don’t need your false promises now. So how about you just shut up and let us go? That would be nice right?” Sengo stated with a little bit of sarcasm.

Looking at his partner Etsuko, he began to think of a plan to stop the monster. It seemed like his partner was ready for a fight, luckily so was Sengo. He didn’t just summon so many replicates on himself because he thought he was handsome. However, this would not be the only type of offensive he would take.

With a small amount of hand seals bones began to erupt from the ground. As if they were rising from the dead, weird misshapen bones began to connect to one another; chipped ulna bones with femur bones, hand bones with thigh bones. It was an interesting sight to see, and as the bones began to shape themselves into small lizards, no larger than a medium sized dog it became a game of guess.

However, it became a little clearer that they resembled what looked like miniature raptors; the same kind that they had fought earlier in the day. As the spectacle ended Sengo was already in the offensive position with his blade at the ready.

”Ready for this Etsuko?” The young Naga stated as his miniature army rushed the spider beast.

His seven clones, each perfectly harmonized to attack as Sengo did, and about a dozen small raptors all attacking on their own accord. It was a hell of a distraction against this monster.

Etsuko paid no mind to the words that left the spider woman's mouth. Her clan's chakra was building quickly over her hands, giving form to ten needles that were made pitch-black and coated in dancing electricity. She barely had the time to speak with Sengo.

The Naga's interest in this cavern was enough to cause Etsuko to lose a great respect in him, not that there had been much of that in the first place. The bone raptors that followed caused Etsuko to lose her focus. Her eyes spun wildly at the small creatures, and she felt her heart beat faster, her mind wondering if they were cousins of the dangerous raptor that they had first encountered on the island.

No. No, they seem to be under the control of Sengo.

Among the battalion of images that Sengo had created, Etsuko felt remarkably alone. She was on one side of the cavern, Sengo on the other, and the spider-woman seemed to have a difficult time figuring out exactly how she was supposed to act. Her jaw was clenched at the pain of Etsuko's illusion, while Sengo's many monsters seemed waiting for a cue.

Her Magnetic Field was still hovering close to her, keeping her feet an inch above the ground, as her family's secret technique became complete in her hands. In between the grip of her handblades, the ten senbon were poised. With a flash, the black needles flew out towards the spider, and as the woman turned her scowling face towards Etsuko, she saw no one there.

The woman with the turquoise hair was flying through the air, up to the high ceilings, hoping to attack from an aerial angle.

The woman, however, had remarkable reflexes. Her neck snapped upwards, as three of Etsuko's senbon sunk into a pair of the spider's leg, and a fourth found purchase in the spider abdomen. With a hiss, Etsuko watched as the strange creature shot a beam of gold up towards her. It seemed to be shiny, made of silken material, but as it made full contact with Etsuko's waist, she could feel it's adhesive property.

Her back slammed against the ceiling of the cavern. The golden silk kept her adhered to the surface, and she felt her legs tightly confined, useless. One of her wrists had been caught in another strand, and as she was pressed against the ceiling, she was a vision of turquoise crucifixion. Her eyes spun towards the ground, her needles' explosive property still dormant.

The woman began to move towards the wall, a spider moving towards an unfortunate fly. Her speed and finesse was tangible, until lightning coursed through Etsuko's needles, and an explosion went off.

The violent hiss of an angry arachnid sounded much louder from her vantage point, in the spider's nest.

Sengo’s army of bones did little to hurt the spider woman but instead took her for a sucker and succeeded in being a great distraction to help out his partner. His turquoise haired partner was successful in landing a few senbon needles into the spider woman. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem quite effective in the sense that you would hope and as a golden web launched from the woman it was obvious there was more to this fight.

The web had landed and sent Etsuko flying towards the wall on the other end of the room and for a moment Sengo was worried. He was worried that he would have to fight this beast alone. He was far away from where she was and Sengo felt the danger. He rushed to his partner’s location and to his surprise an explosion had went off in the vicinity of the spider woman. It seemed the senbon needles were charged with something and the successfully hit ones had exploded. It was a great strategy against a beast and something Sengo did not really think of.

The scream of the woman had almost made him worry that the fight was about to get more intense. However, there was no time to think of such a thing as Sengo rushed towards Etsuko to let her free. Ordering his clones to rush into the cloud of smoke that had been created from the explosion prior. Successfully, Sengo was able to cut the woman down and to his dismay began to hear the poof of his clones. Turning around he had noticed the smoke diminishing and what he saw began to worry him.

A golden cocoon had spun around the spider woman and it seemed to be moving. Laughter began to echo through the area as the cocoon began to crack. Slowly flaking away the cocoon revealed two things. The same woman now in a different form; a more human like form, and the lower half now a full-fledged spider with poison dripping from his fangs.

”You have given me no choice. I have given you each an opportunity to be with me. It seems you are only good for lunch.” The woman stated as she smiled at Sengo and Etsuko.

”I got the girl, how about you get the big spidey?” Sengo stated as he pulled out his blade.
