Musuro came over to Sero, though he didn't look straight at him. He seemed to be muttering to himself, and looked around the woods as the twins struggled with the silk.

"Something is off around here," Musuro said, "I can tell something is in the air, but there is too much of it to just be webbing from some bugs."

Though Musuro was saying it, he didn't seem certain of his words. Instead he waited for the twins to finish their grooming session, fixing the brothers hair after getting the webbing out, then he laid out orders.

"If we're here, then we need to look around. Ryuku, take the new guy and head North," he said pointing off the trail in one direction, "Don't get too far, then come back here."

"Wha? Why do I have to go with-"

Before Ryuku could finish complaining, Musuro looked in his direction, and the man shut up, backing away a step.

"Come on then," The man said, pointing in the direction for Sero and heading off into the light webs.

"We're going to be heading South," Musuro said, pushing Kyuku to take the lead.

Further North, the webbing was still sparse for a while. It was between a few branches, enough to get annoying, feeling like you were constantly walking through a spiders web.

Then the woods seem to grow a little darker, and the webbing got thicker. Worse, it felt like someone, or something, was always watching in the deep woods.

Sero had no quarrel with the leader of the group and just wanted to get his job done to make sure he got paid, it didn’t matter to him who went with him and it was a matter of fact that he wanted to go on his own. There was a lot of things ridding on the secrecy of Sero and he would hope to make sure that nothing bad happened to him if he wanted to eat that night.

”Well, lets get going, you can lead if you want” Sero offered as the two of them headed North. He didn’t expect a response and he would probably not get one.

Either way, he was all right with the fact that now he was traveling towards their destination. The further North the two of them got the darker it seemed to get. The webs were now more abundant and there was a fear racing through the head of Sero that they were now being watched. However, there was nothing that Sero could do at the moment that would not show his true strength. He had to refrain from using any Hyouton in case they regrouped with the rest of the group.

The way Musuro seemed shaken from the situation made Sero just as nervous.

”You feel something? Like there is something watching us? By the way, I never asked, you a shinobi as well?” Sero stated a question hoping to get his mind off the uneasy feeling of the area.

Ryuku was definitely nervous, his whole body almost shivering as they continued through the woods. But it didn't stop him from answering Sero's question. He looked over with an incredulous look on his face.

"Of course man, you think I'd be out here if I was just some..." He shut up when there was a distant scream back South. He stopped in place and waited for any other sign of the noise.

Then there was another scream, and Ryuku's eyes went wide.

"BROTHER!" The mercenary ran back South, abandoning Sero where he was. He moved with an uncanny quickness, diving into the shadows laid out by the trees and thick webbing.

In the distance, he could be heard shouting out for his brother again, "Brother! Hold On!"

Then, silence.

Except for crying. The sound was too quiet to hear before the departure of the mercenary, but there was definitely the sound of someone crying, almost like a child, to the East. Far enough along, there seemed to be some sign of life, a small something, a shadow against the many trees out there in the East where everything was so dark that a shadow among the growing mess of silk was the best one could hope for.

Then to the South there was a distant repeated call. It was Musuro, though what the blind man was saying couldn't be made out at this distance.

Sero was stuck between a rock and a hard place, he felt bad for the young man he was with and the sounds of his brothers screams really hit a cord with him. If he didn’t have amnesia there was no doubt they would remind him of the screams and pani he heard and felt when his village was being destroyed. Instead, Sero just felt remorse and sadness for the guy. As the mercenary ran off Sero wondered what he should do. He was there to find their contact and wanted to really get paid, but then again, there was also this group of men that he needed to help if he wanted to survive whatever was attacking them.

Sero thought for possibly a few seconds before deciding to run after the group and discover what had happened. If anything, the most important thing right now would be to stick together and fight off this hidden foe.

Rushing through the bushes and silky residue of webs Sero continued to run towards where he heard the screams and could hopefully figure out where he had to go. Ryuku was no longer in his sights and that troubled him even further.

Then the sound of Musuro rang out from the forest, even though it was inaudiable and sounded more like a muffle Sero knew that mans deep voice well enough to know it was him. It sounded as if his mouth was stuffed and this troubled Sero even more so.

He knew that his best bet would be confusion and decoys if he was going to go into a trap that was being set up for him. Using his chakra Sero produced a clone of himself. Out of seemingly nothing the snow clone rose to run a little further ahead of Sero. The Yuke-nin wanted to make sure his clone got hit, not him.

As Sero got close to the source of the sounds, the silk got thicker and thicker. It was worse than when he left the area, as if something had passed by while he was gone, and added to the problem several fold.

His clone came across it first. A ball of the silk, the webbing, large and suspended in the air. Out of the bottom a lump of flesh was popping out. Hair hanging loose. The clothing peeking out from the ball, that was the best identification he had. It was Ryuko.

His face was swollen to the point of being unrecognizable. There was no movement from the body.

In the distance, among the trees, another ball was hanging there, similar size and shape. But nothing was peeking out of that one. It was impossible to tell who was in there, if anyone.

There was movement in the trees, something was moving fast, dashing between the webbing at a breakneck pace. Dodging back and forth, avoiding the obvious routes.

The whole forest felt small, for a moment. Warm, and dangerous.

A sudden rush, and then a voice a few paces away.

"New guy!" It was the blind leader, Musuro. Despite not being able to see, his face seemed strained with the pressure of what was going on around him.

"The others, they're both..." He let the words hang, and instead his lips seemed to keep moving as if he was muttering to himself. His head turned one way, and then another.

"We need to get out of here, screw this mission, we need to get out right-"

Something hit him, something larger than a man. It moved so fast and hit so hard it was like the shadow of a careening wagon. Musuro let out a scream of pain as the shadow creature dragged him off into the darkness. It was all long limbs, growling, and insane ferocity.

"No, no!" Musuro continued to scream as he was dragged further and further into the forest in a particular direction. It was away from the way they were heading before, a random path off into the woods. That direction, the webbing seemed to get thicker.

The scene that Sero came upon was disgusting and perplexing. There was nothing that could explain what was going on and to be honest Sero was a little worried. It was becoming increasingly probable that they were in a trap set by the enemies of Sound, however, there seemed to be something else to this whole thing and by the time Sero could think of anything further he noticed the hanging man. Then a yell from Musuro , ordering the retreat of them both echoed through the woods.. The fear on the man’s face contorted and made his features unrecognizable to the man he once thought fearless.

The fear boiled over as a shadowy figure dragged the blind man, what confused him more so was the shock of surprise Musuro held in his fear stricken face as he was dragged into the dark. Everything in his head told him to run, his gut agreeing, however, his spirit didn’t allow him to retreat. He was frozen in fear and for a moment he was ready to be taken away. However, nothing came and grabbed him from the shadows and although he was alone, the screams of fear rang through his mind. The forest itself seemed alive and Sero wasn’t sure what to do. However, each of the men was taken down because they lacked the skill to live.

Sero knew he wouldn’t be able to get out of this alone and although he had his clone, there was no physical prowess to aid him. With a heavy breathe Sero headed towards Musuro, he only hoped that he was still alive when he got to him.

The forest got darker as he headed further in and the webs were becoming almost intolerable. It was getting to the point of hindering him. To make up for it he propelled his body through the use of his Hyouton, skating through the webbing.

As Sero skated deeper into the webbing, the forest got darker until the sky was a memory. There was the occasional glimpse of wood among the walls of webbing, the subtle reminder that he was still in the woods.

Musuro's screaming was still up ahead.

Then the path started winding. Trees and walls of web in his way, requiring him to twist and turn. The walls were becoming thicker, like hardened bits of the webbing built layer after layer into a support structure all around him.

If he stopped to notice, he would see that the web was crawling. Every inch of it, moving, growing or retreating, spiders of all sorts of sizes flowing over and within. They were building it, weaving it right before his eyes, this massive network.

Then he was at a door. It wasn't an actual door, but all around was hard walls, and the area just before was like a soft net of webbing, and beyond that the echoes of Musuro.

He could see beyond net, splitting corridors. It was hard to tell if he was still even in the forest, was he above ground or in a tunnel? The spider webs were everything now.

Sero lost his sense of being within the webbings. It felt less and less like a forest and more and more like some sick joke that was being played upon him. He had lost his sense of awareness to where he was but he knew that he must be in the realm or reality. There was a sudden shift in the design of the forest as no more wood could be seen and without much notice his clone had disappeared as well. What made it even weirder, there was no sense to anything around him, yet it seemed like the area was alive. He could see closely that spiders of all sizes constructed, weaved, and traversed the area around him.

His assumption on the critters being the culprits of the whole thing made him worry about what was possibly coming up ahead of him. Though he could still hear the screams of Musuro he feared that something worse was waiting in the shadows in front of him, something that would not speak and only react to his presence. However, as he looked behind him he could not see anything and it seemed like the webbing was closing in. He had fell for the trap and he was now in the den of these monsters.

There was only one way out and that was to continue on his journey through the dark. However, he would not go unprepared as he summoned another Snow clone. This one would stay close to him and with hope, confuse the thing that had grabbed Musuro and if there were any other monsters waiting.

Sero headed down the corridor, going right and propelling through the webs, he had only hoped he chose the right way and that he would be able to get out alive.

The corridor twisted and turned as it went, and almost seemed to grow a little more narrow. Soon enough it was hard for Sero to make his way down the path without occasionally touching the sides, the webbing brushing off on him, the spiders teeming just under the surface getting on him briefly.

Everywhere he went, the spiders on the walls stopped as he got close. Not that normal spiders have the best eyesight, but as he passed, they would briefly come to a halt, and then seemingly go back to work when he left.

Further ahead, in the shadows, something large moved from left to right in the corridor. It was about as large as a cat, along the ground, but had that same strange walk like you would expect of a spider. But by the time Sero got up there, nothing was there, and there was no hole in the webs where it would have vanished to.

Then, it struck. Not even instincts managed to catch it in time, a long brown limb like a scythe passing through in one deadly swipe, bisecting Sero in two. Then the clone of Sero fell into two large clumps of snow on the floor of the corridor.

The creature was terrifying. Since it thought it managed to get a kill, it let out a feral chattering noise, the terrible mandibles on its face clicking together. It looked like a massive brown spider, long blades where its pedipalps should be. Where its many eyes should be located, it had a weird extrusion ending in the start of a monstrous human-shaped head.

"Ki-ki-ki-ki-ki-ki-" It chattered, raising up for another strike, ready to chase down its second kill.

Fear erupted from the innards of Sero as he witnessed his clone be bisected into a clean cut of snow. However, there was something special about this clone and as the two halves fell to the ground the upper half began to crawl its way towards its lower half, making sure to reform again. Luckily, for Sero, the monster had chosen his clone and not him. Unable to hear the things attack had made it a lot easier for him to die. Luckily, now the beast was now in front of him. It was the most disgusting and terrifying thing he had ever witnessed. It didn't even look like a spider, except for the eyes, the abdomen, and the eight razor sharp legs piercing the ground below it.

There was no time to act a fool and without much hesitation Sero sent out a barrage of ice spears. The darkness combined with the transparency of the pristine ice would allow for a grand attack against the spider. To make things more profound for the next attack Sero ordered his clone to stay next to him. The tow of them would have to work together if the real Sero wanted to survive this attack. The webbing around seemed to close in on them as the hallway seemed to become smaller. Maybe it was the fact that he was staring down something he had never seen before, or maybe there was more to the trickery. Either way, Sero had to be on his guard. He hoped he could take out the bug before more of them arrived. One might not be too much of a problem, but two, three?

The sounds of Musuro had ceased at that moment for Sero, the only thing he could hear or concentrate on was the chittering sound of the monstrous arachnid.
