Naruto, though it's not exactly fair since they're different genres, mediums, etc. It's like apples and oranges.

Agreed. Avatar and Naruto are similar in many ways, but also different in their own right. I like both, and I love watching the Avatar series more than Naruto, simply because it was made that way.

It simply depends what is being argued here. There's nothing wrong with the Avatar series as a whole, it featured a rather interesting and enticing plot, and the entire concept behind it was something that hadn't been done before. For anyone to say Avatar is outright hideous or in any way a completely horrible series, are simply expressing their dislike in their own state of opinion. Regardless of that matter, I found absolutely nothing wrong with the series, and found that I could watch the Avatar for long periods of time and actually become engulfed into the plot.
Naruto is a good series, don't get me wrong. And I'm not saying that the Avatar is better. If we're arguing simply power and which series would beat who in an epic battle of fire and floods, then it's obvious that there are two things wrong. One, they are both two seperate universes that feature different rules. Naruto can fall from a building and land on his feet, and be perfectly okay. If Aang falls from a huge building, he's going to hurt something pretty badly. In terms of human capabilities, and abilities as a whole, they are two different worlds. I think it's wrong to compare two different worlds in this way, especially when it comes to battling. However if we're comparing what series was better, I think the overall plot of The Avatar is better than that of Naruto. That's a completely personal opinion based off of me having read the manga from the beginning to now, and having watched The Avatar. I watched the majority of the Naruto series, but I find that The Avatar's plot in my own personal opinion was a tad more original and enticing than that of the Naruto series, despite the intruging discoveries and happenings occurring currently in the series. What I want to stress most is that coming in here and simply shouting that The Avatar is a horrible series, and not giving any proof other than your own personal opinion rather than stating facts, such as not as many fans or people watching The Avatar, in the end is going to make you look like an utter fool. Because if you try to debate, you'll just keep looping and going back to the same argument of a standard usual "It sucks" opinion.
