Physical Description: Shuju is a full-grown man of average height, but with very distinctive features. His fit body is coated with bright green hair although his bodily hair is rarely out in the open due to his style of clothing. His long green hair is combed backwards and is tied from the back, making a tail that stretches to shoulder length. Covering a large area of his face is his short, but full green beard and mustache. His eyes are also of a bright green color.

Clothing: Shuju was never one to care much about his style of clothing, especially not on duty. He wears cheap and plain black cargo pants that offer mobility. On his torso, he wears a short-sleeved, plain white shirt. To cover his feet, Shuju uses a pair of black combat boots. On top of all his clothing, he wears a thick, sand-colored robe that covers some of his clothing, but it’s open from the front so it only covers his back and his arms. His attire is entirely devoid of accessories except for a pouch tied to his left thigh that holds some of his tools.

Personality: To most people Shuju is just the rude stranger, and he usually doesn’t have much faith in other people, but he’s quite the valiant fellow, even though he would complain the whole time, he’s the type that would end up saving the day. The same thing goes to doing his job as a shinobi; he would complain through a whole mission, but never performs anything but his best on the job. Doing his job is part of his code of honor, and he’s a big fan of honor. He is usually hateful of those that go against his principles.

Blessed with remarkable eyesight, there is nothing that gets by the user. Their power of sight, whether or not it is 20/20, is sharper than most. They have a knack for finding whatever they happen to be looking for, and no detail, no matter how small, slips by them. It takes them only moments to find whatever it is they’re looking for, and if they do not see it they can say with confidence that it is not there—or just hidden very well. This can be as simple as finding keys in a messy room or impressive as picking out a face in a crowded square.

Biography: Shuju was born and raised in the hidden sand village. He is the son of two active shinobi and his brother is one too, specifically a puppeteer. It was a close family, and they all lived together in Shuju’s younger days.

Ever since his earlier days Shuju has taken a liking to puppets after being entertained with them after watching his brother for such a long time. Even before going to the academy, Shuju was taught by his brother to move the most basic puppets using regular strings. It was a good experience for someone of his age and that gave him a head start over puppeteers his age.

Just a few years later, Shuju was an academy student and started training to be a ninja. He was a decent student; perhaps a little better than the average kid and that seemed good enough for him. Shuju had no ambition at that point and was just trying to see what came after being an academy student.

It wasn’t long before Shuju graduated from the academy and officially became a shinobi of sand. He was just a genin, but that was the first big step. As a reward, Shuju’s father, Hiraku taught Shuju how to build puppets, and helped him build one of his own; his first puppet. Due to lack of better ideas, the puppet ended up being a Shuju puppet, but that wasn’t the only thing that happened upon his graduation. A very experienced puppeteer who was also a teacher took Shuju in. Shuju wasn’t placed in a team, but instead was taken by that puppeteer to properly learn the art of puppeteering and he would end up a far more capable puppeteer than he would have been if he was a part of a standard team. He was doing everything a full team would have been doing, except that his group had two genin less.

Shuju’s main focus and concern was to learn everything Kyo had to offer, and that meant there was plenty to be learned from a puppet master of that caliber. As Kyo taught his pupil, controlling a group of puppets wasn’t just about unleashing the sneakiest or most powerful traps. Puppeteers are supposed to be capable of making their own puppets, to know their ins and outs and they should also be cunning, sneaky bastards. That combination made perfect sneaky shinobi.

A few years later, while still under Kyo’s tutoring, Shuju was promoted and gained the rank of chuunin but there was still much more to learn. Just like when he obtained his previous rank, he was going to build another puppet of his own, but it was under Kyo’s supervision and without any hands on help. For his second puppet, his sensei wanted him to go for something entirely different, meaning something other than a human and it was up to Shuju to decide the creature. Finally, he decided on a spider and ended up building a 7-foot-tall tarantula. A puppet master needs to have mastery over all puppet sizes, ranging from the kid Shuju one, to the seven foot tall spider one.

Shuju was a bright kid, and was picking up what Kyo taught him quickly. It didn’t take the Chouku long to be able to craft puppets all by himself, making them fully armed, for entertainment purposes or for other people and they were all fully functional. He did all sorts of them and kept a large collection that just kept growing. It became a hobby of Shuju’s to build puppets, even if he never used them he enjoyed seeing his finished products and felt a sense of achievement from seeing them. Shuju was a curious fellow and curiosity was one of the best teachers.

During his time as a chuunin, Shuju was faced with trials and tribulations during his missions, he was being developed into a battle-hardened warrior, and a keen detective. He wasn't pampered as Kyo's apprentice, but instead Kyo had time work twice as hard to be twice the shinobi he would have been otherwise. Kyo wasn't only carefuly that Shuju extensively learned about puppeteering, but he was building him to be a man. He was a harsh trainer, but he always got the point across and taught well. Through all the harshness, Shuju was thankful to be taught by him and he was one of the few human beings that earn Shuju's respect.

During those years, Shuju got a lot more on-field experience and managed to apply what he learned on actual battlegrounds and mission and was getting knee deep in the shinobi life-style. In time, he gained credibility, was known for trustworthiness and being good at what he did whether it came down to his job as an investigator or his skills as a puppeteer. Then eventually, he was promoted to jounin; the group of shinobi who really get jobs done. That period help some big changes in Shuju’s life. Around that time, Kyo set Shuju loose to continue his own training, letting him learn the rest by himself to broaden his horizon and to be more independent and to add more independency to his life, Shuju moved out of his parents home into his own; one with a workshop made for building puppets and just because of that, it was his dream home and it had puppets all over the place passing off as decoration, or just a clutter.
