  • Sasaki Hideki - IWA Jounin

    Name:Sasaki Hideki
    Alias:Kanshaku Kagirinai no Gosai Jouten
    Age:20
    Sex:Male
    Height:6'0

    Character Type:Shinobi

    Country/Village: Earth Country/Iwakagure
    Rank: Jounin
    Division:IWA - Culture Specialist

    Physical Description:
Hideki, or Kagi as he likes to be called, is...well, scrawny. While standing at a respectable six feel tall, he has the appearance of a beanpole, with little in the way or fat or noticeable muscle covering his body. However, while his body carries no mass to speak of, he is almost ridiculously toned, every fiber of his body looking stretched out and taunt. His face is very angular, with his short, red, spiked hair dipping down to the top of his sharp blue eyes. He is generally seen as being attractive, though how much of that has to do with his actual looks and how much has to do with his personality are always subject to debate.

    Clothing:
Kagi prefers clothing that is simple yet tasteful. He wears soft white cotton pants, which are partially covered by a silk half-skirt, held in place by a simple leather belt. For his chest, he prefers to wear just a simple silk vest with no shirt underneath. He can sometimes be seen wearing other various accessories, such as a scarf, necklace, bracelet, etc., but generally those don't belong to him so much as they belong to whatever lady he happened to be with the night before who forgot to take everything with her the next morning. During the colder months in Iwa, this ensemble is complimented by a heavy wool pea-coat, which is generally filled to the brim with various tools and other necessary items.

The jounin's sword is never far from his hand, hanging on his right hip while his ninja tools take their proper place on his left.

    Personality:
To put it simply, Kagi is passionate. In fact, to call him 'passionate' would do the man no justice, as his actions put him far above such a simple adjective. Everything in his life, he puts his entire heart into. No matter the task or duty, one can be sure that if Kagi is involved he will put his heart and soul into it. This passion extends to his relationships with other people, though it manifests differently depending on whether the other party is male or female. To males, he is a harsh judge and jury. If you don't live up to his expectations, then expect nothing but a cold shoulder and eternal shunning from the fire-spitting stone-nin. However, if that person proves to be suitably passionate, about both his job and life in general, then a more stalwart friend than Kagi will never be found. He has no qualms in sacrificing his body for his friends, and thus inspires an unusual amount of respect among the other shinobi of the village.

To women, he is the ultimate lady killer. He's developed an excellent sense of what it will take for a women to completely fall for him, which in his mind proves his theory that passion is the most important emotion of all. While he rarely, if ever, enters relationships, he's still a natural born flirt. Probably why he doesn't have many relationships, as he can't keep his eyes or silver tongue away from every pretty lady he sees.

It should also be mentioned that Hideki, Kagi's jewel avatar, is very much a younger version of the jounin. He serves as both cheering squad and source of perpetual encouragement. He's a highly emotional child, much as Kagi was at the same age, and looks up to Kagi as the ultimate role model. Because of this, their relationship is generally on outstanding terms, the only conflict coming when either Kagi starts to doubt himself(a rare occurrence) or Hideki becomes depressed over some trivial matter (an equally rare occurrence).

Nindo; "Way of the Ninja": "Whatever you do, do it with PASSION! A life without passion isn't a life at all!"

    Biography:

Passion (noun): any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate.

For a man who's whole life would be based around a passionate existence, Sasaki Hideki was born in the meekest of fashion. His parents, teenage sweethearts who had lost at the lottery that is pregnancy, ended up finishing out their drama-filled pregnancy in a tiny little village. Originally they had both been from Dachi City, but had been unceremoniously been run out of town when the news of their 'bundle of joy' had reached the ears of their ultra-conservative parents. For a while they had lived off the graciousness of various family members, but in the end they had ended up in a tiny hovel. While their stop there was only meant to be temporary, nature had decided on a different course for the beleaguered pair. They used the very last of their 'seperation' money – their parents' diplomatic way of paying them to get out of town as fast as their legs could carry them – to rent a small room and pay for the midwife, a kindly old woman who took pity on the two and their bright-eyed, energetic boy. She took the young family into her own home, and served as a nanny for your Hideki while his parents took any odd job around the village they could find to make ends meet.

Even at these tender formative years, people could tell that this young child had something...different about him. He learned to walk before the end of his 9th month, and from that day forward there was no inch of the village that he didn't explore. He became a staple attraction for the older members of the community, who often spent hours playing with the small child until they were exhausted. Hideki, however, was filled with an inexhaustible abundance of energy and a curiosity that remained with him throughout his entire life. He was a happy child who loved his nanna and his parents, never even giving a second thought to why he didn't have grandparents like all the other children in the village.

However, this fairy tale life couldn't last forever, and at the tender age of five young Hideki finally learned the truth. His mother and father were having an usually heated argument, loud enough to wake the deep sleeping boy, who crept out of his room and listened silently. His mother was inconsolably upset, blaming her exhausted and beleaguered husband for ruining her comfortable life in Dachi and saddling her with a child she was by no means ready for. This news was a blow to the psyche of the boy, who wanted nothing more than to be with his mom and dad and nanna. From that day on, the carefree child started growing up much faster than he ever should have, abandoning the happy pastimes of youth and instead trying to help keep his little family together. While the young couple were puzzled by this rather abrupt change, the truth of the matter was they needed their son's help just to stay afloat. And so, they made no attempt to try and give the boy his childhood back, ignoring the protests of the kindly old woman who had taken them in. She alone could see the potential folly in this course of action, and she worried that eventually the boy's childhood would come back with a vengeance.

Even as all three members of the young family were working tooth and nail to scratch out a living, Hideki was realizing that they were fighting a losing battle. Being so young, there was very little he could do that would earn him more than a pittance salary. However, the small boy was soon approached with what some would consider a once in a lifetime opportunity. There happened to be a older shinobi, a native of the village who had come home for a bit of R&R. His own family had passed away many years ago, but he still had many dear friends from his childhood that he would come to visit, first among those being Hideki's adopted nanna. When she explained the circumstances surrounding the young family and their constant struggle, the jounin made them an offer they could hardly refuse. He would take the young Hideki back to Iwagakure and enroll him in the Academy. If the child graduated and became a shinobi, he would be provided with modest living quarters and a small stipend that could be sent back to his family. While it was by no means an ideal arrangement, the young boy knew that this was the only way he could ensure his parents would be able to continue on. Not only would the extra income be a boon to them, but one less mouth to feed would also go a very long way. So, the family said their tearful goodbyes, and the small boy departed on what was to be the grand adventure of his life.

Life in the Academy was hard for Hideki, but his drive and concern for his parents managed to keep him going. He had a hard time identifying with the other students, as the majority of them were the children of shinobi and thus accustomed to a different kind of life. Still, the years flew by like a brisk wind, and soon his time in the Academy was complete. He had accomplished the first real goal of his life, however the end of this chapter in his life was merely the beginning of a much greater one.

Passion (noun): a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything.

Having completed the curriculum at the Academy, the 10 year old boy was placed into a genin team. While he hadn't picked up any definite focus while in the Academy, he had proven to be a decent swordsman and reasonably capable with simple ninjutsu. His teammates, an overinflated bully named Ruko and a meek, mousy girl by the name of Ume, had a hard time meshing, their personalities and talents very rarely meshing together. It didn't help that their sensei was an elderly jounin who had been slated to retire before the village decided he could train one more team. Needless to say, he was bitter and apathetic about the little brats that had pulled him away from his much deserved rest and pension. Still, little by little the group of children started meshing together, and slowly but surely Hideki started to feel at home in the village where he had resided for the last several years. He had friends who would hang out and goof off, and every once in a while he would forget the real reason why he had agreed to become a shinobi in the first place.

It was during this time of his life that the boy started to show a bit of his abandoned childhood seeping through. The insatiable curiosity of his early childhood started to resurface, though he simply assumed he was trying to better himself in his profession. After all, he still had his parents to think about, and he was extremely dutiful in sending every cent that he made to his parents. Oddly, there was little to no correspondence coming into the village from the mother and father who were happily taking their son's money, but he never gave it a second thought. He merely assumed that they were too busy, and left it at that.

The more and more that young Hideki explored his new shinobi life, the more and more he wanted to know. He eagerly learned as much as he could, finding a much more approachable chunnin teacher when his own sensei refused to teach him more than absolutely necessary to survive. The chunnin, a doton specialist, began teaching his young ward as quickly as the genin could absorb the information, transforming the bright eyed youth into a reasonably skilled shaper of stone and earth.

These abilities would come in quite handy, and at the age of 13 he and his team participated in the Chunnin Exams. While the Exams generally are trying on the participants, no one could have guessed the effects they would have on young Hideki. Added to the normal stress of a life-or-death exam, the young genin also received a rather unexpected visit from the now very elderly jounin who had originally brought him to the village. However, the man did not bring good news. Instead, he brought all the letters he had sent over the last 3 years, still full of all the money the boy had been sending, not a single one of them opened. Apparently, the two had decided, once they were rid of the child who had caused them so much distress, they ran back to Dachi and begged the forgiveness of their respective families. Without so much as a word, the two had abandoned the son who had always thought of them first and foremost. It was a devastating blow to the boy, but he had no time to dwell on it – his team needed him to be on top of his game.

While the first phase of the exams, which ended up being a simple practical examination with a few twists thrown in, was easily passed by the team, the second phase was quite a bit more taxing. The task was to traverse part of the mountain regions of Iwa, which of course was littered with both the other teams and various traps of fiendish design. Only the first four teams to reach the endpoint would be allowed to continue, but there was an added stipulation that if anyone finished in less than 5 days, they would be automatically disqualified.

Hideki's squad was ill-equipped to survive both the elements and the constant attacks of the other team, and it looked as though they were finished. Ruko's bravado was quickly silenced in the face of their plight, and Hideki, who was still grappling with the revelation about his parents, was in no condition to act as the team's leader. So, it fell to Ume, the quiet, unassuming genjutsu specialist, to keep them alive and moving. She openly chastised Ruko's cowardice, though she was much softer with Hideki, whom she had long held a secret attraction. The two became quite close during those days in the mountains, even sharing their first kiss together. Emboldened by Ume's affection, the young doton specialist sprung back to life, so to speak, and made sure to secure one of the coveted four spots for his team.

The third phase, much to everyone's surprise, was not an exam at all. All four of the teams were promoted to chunnin and given their coveted flak jackets, but there was a rather insidious twist. The new chunnin were immediately sent on a mission to subdue a group of missing-nin who were known to be camped nearby. This was the real third phase, a mission that was almost guaranteed to weed out those who truly didn't deserve the honor of being chunnin. As expected, the four teams who had been hunting each other mere hours ago could not be asked to work together as a collective group, and instead approached the nuke-nin in separate groups. The first group was completely obliterated, but the other three all attacked at the same time, managing to overwhelm and finally contain the handful of missing-nin. However, no team went unscathed, and for Hideki it was yet another blow to his already unbalanced psyche. Even through the best efforts of both Ume and Hideki, their deflated teammate Ruko was quickly dispatched by the nuke-nin. Although everyone agreed that the pompous little boy had been dead weight for a long time, for Hideki it was far more personal than that. Ruko had been the first friend he had made in Iwagakure, and the newly promoted chunnin blamed himself for not being able to save his friend. He was inconsolable for nearly a week, with no one seeing so much as a hair on his head during that time. Some people worried that he might have killed himself in grief, but in due time the young man came out of his small dormitory, apologized to everyone for worrying them, and went back to living his life.

Passion (noun): strong sexual desire; lust.

For a short time after the Exams, the higher-ups of the village kept a close eye on young Hideki, however after he showed no signs of anything being out of place, they allowed him to go back to his normal duties. It was during these first few weeks that things with Ume got quite serious...at least for her. During his time in isolation, something in the psyche of the new chunnin had completely snapped. He had convinced himself that his parents had abandoned him because he wasn't passionate enough about life, and that same lack of passion caused Ruko to perish. So, he resolved that he would live the rest of his life as passionately as possible, so that he could both honor his fallen friend and make sure he never lost another friend due to his lack of passion. So, while Ume and Hideki did indeed start a relationship, it soon became clear that they were like oil and vinegar to each other. While Ume was very reserved and quiet, content to simply be with Hideki, the boy was much more...forceful...in his advances. Eventually, he pushed her too hard, and she ran away in tears. While the old Hideki would have felt terrible about this development, the new, mildly unhinged Hideki merely shook his head and moved on.

The next few years were a whirlwind for the young man. There was no mission too dangerous, no training too extreme, no woman too beautiful for him. He gained a rather...dubious reputation around the village, but it never interfered with his duties so no one said anything about it. In fact, it his legendary status as a lady killer that caught the eye of the village's researchers. They saw Hideki as the perfect vessel for the red force jewel, which was known for having a rather forceful and passionate personality of its own. So, he was interviewed over the course of several weeks, the scientists making sure that the young man knew exactly what was going to happen. For the chunnin, there was no answer but yes to this potentially life-threatening procedure, and as soon as the village would allow it the implanting began.

While Hideki has never spoken about the first encounter with the jewel avatar, it was obviously positive. The chunnin had decided to have the jewel implanted on top of his heart, a move which panicked the jounin performing the ceremony, but the scientists in charge of observing Hideki postulated that perhaps the close proximity to such a major chakra point had actually strengthened the bond between avatar and host. In either case, the young man quickly healed and was back in the field, experimenting with a whole new host of devastating new abilities. He became a demon on the battlefield, his exploits eventually earning him a promotion to jounin. The new gem embedded in his skin was also a huge boon for his conquests in the bedroom as well – at least, until Hideki realized that the second personality in his head was that of a thirteen year old boy. While the little voice obviously LIKED being around during the shinobi's exploits, it creeped the man out immensely. So, he swore off women, at least until he figured out a way to suppress the jewel consciousness for short periods of time. Several months after receiving his jewel, the young man was venturing around the countryside on a mission when he saw a small shrine dedicated to some minor elemental gods. Curious, the shinobi took a look, and he was instantly smitten with them. While to everyone else, they were merely obnoxiously long titles, for Hideki it was another way for him to show everyone the might of his passion. So, he renamed himself Kanshaku Kagirinai no Gosai Jouten, or the Crimson God of Eternal Passion. In an act of eternal respect and comradrie, he gave possession of his old name to his avatar, which can of course lead to some rather major confusion around the village.

Passion (noun): a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything.

With all the recent developments in the village, the jewel carrier feels slightly torn. While he personally doesn't see the issue with non-shinobi getting jewels like his, the fact that they're threatening his friends and village are inexcusable. However, the passion that these citizens show, even when aimed at him, is something that Kanshaku Kagirinai no Gosai Jouten, or Kagi as he prefers to be called, respects greatly. Recently, the young man was assigned to the IWA division, a placement that suits him perfectly. As a Culture Specialist, he can attempt to win back the passionate hearts of the citizens, while simultaniously fanning the love and passion he feels for his village into a wildfire that could, in the right circumstances, consume the entire country.

Your tactics should read 12 instead of 11. Your reserves should read 22 instead of 24.

Doton: Shindoryuudan no Jutsu (Earth Element: Earth Dragon God Blast)
    Requirements: Power 18, Control 17, Reserves 17, Tactics 14

Doton: Doryuudan no Jutsu (Earth Element: Earth Dragon Blast Technique)
    Requirements: Intelligence 14, Tactics 13, Willpower 11, Control 10

    Flame Serpent
Requirement: Red Jewel; Control 19, Power 19, Reserves 18, Tactics 16

    Column of Flames
Requirement: Red Jewel; Control 15, Power 15, Reserves 13, Tactics 14

You don't have the tactics for this.

Also, from what I can tell, you've only spent 47 points in physical.

Fixing your mental stats might be hard because you just barely qualify for some of the higher level techniques with Intelligence and Willpower as they are. You might need to make some decisions on what jutsu are more important to you, buddy.

Thanks for the catch, VD. Moved some stats around, removed both Stage 6's, put some more AP into Tactics, edited the AP usage at the bottom of the sheet.

      Boom.

I can't read your friggin tiny text, brah.

Solid biography, but you need to talk about recent events. What's his opinion on the Coalition? On non-shinobi having force jewels? Iwa is mid civil war, at the moment.

Edit: argh shit, gimme a minute. I stopped reading, apparently.

Edit2: I can see why I missed his current event opinions, considering it's three sentences :x I want more, but that'll probably do. Half-approved, pending tiny text.

I really just hate this font. What's wrong with the standard engi font? I'll tack a half approval on this, contingent upon changing to normal font at normal size.

Going to have to agree with Seikon. Double disapproved until you change to standard font. That's what is causing the size problem.
