((Spend 2 AP on Jutsu. Thank you Kaito for the extra slot. X3 *Huggles*))

    Name: Chisane En
    Age: 25
    Sex: Male
    Height: 5’10

    Character Type: Shinobi

    Country/Village: Fire Country/Konohagakure
    Rank: Jounin
    Division: Team Sensei

    Physical Description:
Immaculate. The single word that describes his appearance. Frankly there’s nothing else of interest to say of the jounin. Granted neither eccentric hair or eye color or breath-taking handsomeness, he’s left with clean, ordinary and flawless features he strives to maintain. The importance of one’s outer image has been ingrained into him as a child and has now become a foundation of his life. The bistre locks is never in wild array, carefully trimmed and brushed into order against the neck. Shadowed emeralds hold direct and unwavering, the inky gaze unabashed at its target without a flicker of uncertainty. Even his actions, though smooth, holds a decisive undertone of a man unfamiliar with the notion of hesitation.

While he isn’t the most striking shinobi to grace Konohakagure, the man has one thing to his credit; charm. An epitome of valor, he is gifted with the innate charisma that transcends simple aesthetic appeal. A gentle somber dignity encloses the jounin, the solemn air casting a powerful magnetism on the otherwise ordinary shinobi. And he knew well of his blessing and uses it to his advantage. If appeal fails then physical strength is the next option. While his toned form lacks the physical force as some taijutsu specialists, his speed and reflexes more than compensate for the lesser might.

Clothing? What clothing? The man practically owns a small store of attire in his home. He has a set of garments for any occasion, all occasions. By season, by weather, by setting and circumstance; he’s something for it all. But for detail’s sake a general description is given. Training hours is a hakama and kimono, home time sees casual pants and t-shirt and social endeavors exhibits shirts and jeans with the occasional suit for formal events. Mission hours consist of the default sandals and black trousers, a weapon pouch to the right hip and his katana on the left. A shirt covers the generic fish-net garment beneath and a frock coat to top it off. In an unimaginative move he keeps his hitai-ate on his forehead. But whatever he may wear, one can be sure it is always spotless.

He is a man of contradictory nature. To the one side stands a gallant creature. Chivalry is an endangered species in the modern world and he a vassal of this dying race. Just as his appearance, so too does he uphold his self-image with greatest of attention. Even the enemy he confronts with a certain degree of respect, if only in verbal interaction and professional act of killing. But beneath his courteous words and gracious gestures lies another facet of his disposition. He is a realist, of cynical mind and aloof pride thinly veiled beneath tact. Though he rarely divulges his true thoughts to others, the detached arrogance that is his subconscious nature often eludes the cognizant mind to escape unnoticed in the breath that seeks agreement with whoever he may be with.

Patience is a virtue for this jounin. The ability to maintain discretion in any situation is an artform he strives to perfect. While lesser beings succumb to bouts of emotion, he retains a firm rein over his self. To coax him into rash judgment is rare; to witness him given to passion is an impossibility. No matter the situation, may it be battle or social, his capacity to endure reign unrivalled. But he is only human. The man takes great pride in his cognitive reflexes. If a situation arises where his words prophesied true, he is not above empathizing this to others. While direct disclosure of personal thoughts is rare, he displays hints aplenty of his displeasure in subtle fashion of speech and action. This, however, has the adverse effect of being ignored by the subject of his discontent.

Unlike many who have chosen the career of shinobi life, he no longer harbors the notion of honor and pride to either the occupation or his village. Years of warfare had stripped away the glamour of the occupation, leaving a disillusioned man whose bleak but shrewd view of life dissects all superficial intent from society, leaving the bare bones of their true motives. It is this reason he silently applauds the new governing policy of Konohagakure. Shinobi are, in the end, legitimate murders, thieves and bounty hunters whose acts of sin are atoned by filling the coffers of their employer; the village. Power is not a creature to remain silent, roused only in provocation, but constantly exercised lest it falls into stagnation.

There’s little else to say of the man. He is a natural lie detector, detests surprises and has an affinity for the finer pleasures in life. He takes social ventures in strides though considers most relationships outside of combat alliances to be redundant. Blessed with a photographic memory, he's almost never at a loss for names upon a second meeting. He can be stubborn and somewhat grumpy, often using pure silence against his opponent in whatever verbal spar he cannot win. Threats and blackmail has little effect on the man but heart-felt pleas and softer coaxing will gain his agreement. But he is a prideful creature, so be wary of gratitude for fear that he considers it a display of pity or flattery.

Nindo: “If you ask a stupid question, you’ll get a stupid answer.”

One; the birth of a child, blessed by Heaven’s grace.

He was born and raised in the natural wonders of Himoto, the city where flawless beauty was naught but the essence of one’s daily life. For as far as memory could transcend the passage of Time, his life was filled with visual splendor and warm tranquility. His mother adorned her only child and sought to educate him in the proper etiquette of life, study, culture and the self. A former oiran, the woman retreated from that life and into the business world. Her shrewd mind and ability to judge people, two traits she passed onto her son, saw the woman rise from a courtesan to the proprietor of her own brothels. By the time En was born, she had long enough wealth to settle in a small estate on in the third tier in the country’s capitol. She doted on her child, instructed him on the conduct of chivalry and appearance, taught him the shrewd wit needed of a good businessman and took him across the far reaches of the Fire country and even beyond. From birth he was immersed in the marvels that this world had to offer, witnessed beauty and awe-inspiring sights many could only dream of till the moment of their demise. He never knew his father and she never said, but it was a trivial curiosity in his life. Their lives were perfect just as it was, with only the two of them.

Two; the childish heart, blinded by the Will of Fire.

He was seven, if his memory served, when he truly met a true shinobi. Despite retiring from her former occupation, his mother still indulged in the occasional “acquaintance” and he was one of them. The man was soft spoken and entertained En with small acts of genjutsu. Upon his unrelenting insistence, the jounin humored the child’s curiosity and demonstrated the exact seals of a basic genjutsu. When he was to depart a week later, the man was surprised to see the boy master the technique to near perfection. While he displayed no true brilliance, it was still an amazing feat for a child who had no previous tutoring of chakra. The jounin came up with a proposition; let En return to Konohagakure with him, stay for a month and learn the intimate details of the shinobi village, and if he displayed no interest, allow him to return to Himoto.

In the end, he didn’t need a month. Within a week upon arrival, the boy was all but a paperwork away from shinobi training. He had succumbed to the village’s age-old belief, the sense of unity and desire to protect those important to them. That and the new life proved a far cry from the gentle serenity of his home. The prospect of this new world, of venturing into the unknown and of the seemingly radiant future it held was too great a temptation for the innocent mind. Hence he settled, rented out a place of his own and was enrolled into the Academy.

It took time to accustom himself to this new life. Unlike most of his fellow students, En had never experienced anything of the shinobi life before this. It didn’t hamper his studies, however, for the boy was quick to grasp the foreign concepts of chakra and use of weaponry, of tactics and jutsu. School life within the rowdy classrooms and training grounds was a wonderful change from the solitary childhood he had lead. Friends he had aplenty and the child never caused trouble for the teachers. He didn’t achieve top rank for graduation, but that was only expected; the boy was smart, but he wasn’t a genius.

Three; the eyes opened, alight in future’s embrace.

His genin years passed with relative ease. Their sensei was an old man, a jounin in his mid fifties. This team was to be his last assignment before retirement. He was a wise man, bestowed with knowledge accumulated from his long life of experience. He never gave rise to anger and dealt with every problem his pupils created with a gentle patience. He taught them to be sharp, meticulous, strong and devious. He showed them how to dispatch an opponent in a duel, how to be an honorable loser and how to kick the winner where it hurt when no one’s watching. He lectured them through not only of battles but of politics and diplomacy, of underhand trickery and the finer art of blackmail and bribery, forgery and thief. He educated them of tactics not only of battle but also life. He taught them of themselves, of their own virtues and vices and to accept themselves not despite their flaws, but because of them. But most of all he taught them to view the world with eyes uncovered, to see through and beyond silvered words and subjective speculations and discover the truth that lay beyond.

As it were, the trio didn’t even require the Chuunin Exam to be promoted. Under the kind, quirky and often unorthodox tutorage of their teacher, all three achieved the rank of chuunin months within each other. He was only thirteen, as his two team-mates, but the group had learned more knowledge both in and out of work and garnered enough experience to gain the status. Despite their promotion the three still remained close, spending what spare time they could in each other’s company.

It was only a matter of time before the inevitable occurred.

Four; the heart’s strength, lost to the body’s desire.

They were seventeen, he remembered, when it began. For half a decade they had been together. They had grown together, laughed and cried and fought together to forge a bond stronger than Death. A bond that that they thought it was impossible to destroy. They had never experienced the sin known as “love”.

She was the only girl of the team, a petit creature who slowly blossomed into a graceful woman before their eyes. Yet it was during a lunch after a two months absence that the two young men suddenly realized of her true nature. How they vied for her attention, her smile, and ultimately, her hand in courtship. He won, of course; by then En had matured and mastered his charisma to his advantage. His rival admitted defeat and wished them happiness. And they were happy, oblivious to the pain of reality as the two indulged in the blissful sweetness of first love. It looked for all the world that the pair was perfect.

But the world is a cruel place.

He didn’t know what changed; neither of them did for that matter. She was still as kind and sweet as always, forever with a smile on her face and soft humor on her lips. He still loved her, cherished her, and yet, something vanished. He had, in the simplest terms, become bored. His attention wandered elsewhere and his time spent with other women. It was only a matter of time before he brought infidelity into their relationship. He didn’t wish her to suffer the pain of such betrayal. And so, three months before their two year anniversary, he ended their relationship.

What transpired after was a blur in his memory. He remembered tears, her spiteful words broken by heart-wrenching sobs. He remembered a stinging sensation to his left cheek and the sound of a door slammed, but little else. What he did remember was the day following, when the slap from night previous was repeated, this time in the form of a fist from his old rival. She had retreated to the arms of their former team-mate and he accepted. The couple left, leaving him with a loose tooth and a dull ache on his face. The chuunin watched the two’s figure diminish as they walked away. It would be three years before he would meet the two again, and it would be on their wedding day. Within a week of his first break-up, En was with another girl.

Like father, like son. Apparently the saying was true for mothers as well.

Five; the truth of power, forged of blood and slaughter.

Despite his distaste of politics, the man had kept a close eye over the workings of Konohagakure’s government for the past few years. Now in his early twenties and a handful of life experience under his belt, En viewed the diminishing control the Kyuudaime exerted with increasing agitation. In spite of what the Council voiced of the current leader, the man found it hard to believe that Kintaro, a man who had toiled so diligently to reform and strengthen the village would answer to lackadaisical whim and depart. And why would the Council, men loyal to the Hokage, be so willing to speak of his betrayal to the people? Someone was amiss yet he could not grasp the truth. Instead he remained silent, carried out his mission as requested and remained loyal to the village. And all the while he waited patiently for the Council to reveal its true motive. When it did arrive, even he could not have imagined the sheer magnitude of situation.

For the first time in history’s pages, Konoha initiated the first act of conflict. To have this act occur along with the Kyuudaime’s disappearance and Council’s increasing power was no mere coincidence. Calm, take a step back, detach oneself from the intimacy of the moment and view the pieces again from a vantage point high than that of man. From there one shall see not of jumbled colors but the whole picture. Clear, focused, one can then easily discover the vital information and discard trivial matters. What remains shall be the truth, the foundation of which all every action and word is built upon. What En unearthed was a single, simple reason; power. And he was among those who experienced firsthand the brutality of domination.

Upon the icy earth blood flowed as freely as water. The cloying scent of death overwhelmed this city of steel and mortar, a metropolis of life now alight in flame and ash. How many he killed in this campaign was no longer remembered. Logic was irrelevant here, midst the chilling wind and steaming bodies littering the stained ground and the dull throb of his hand frozen to the hilt of his blade. The act of drawing and sheathing had long since lost its meaning, his body instinctively reacting with the sight of a live creature. There was no glory in this battle or honor gained from the adversary’s death. As the feeble sun rose in a new dawn, all that remained of the battle was ache of exhaustion and dried blood caked to his clothing and skin and… And what else? What else but life gained from the death of others? There was no greater good; it was genocide, pure and simple. The act of stronger rising and weaker driven to extinction.

They would be leaving soon, those who were blessed with life and the unfortunate ones fallen in the clash.

Six; the fate re-written, renewed upon the crossroads of Past and Future

Upon return of Konoha he was promoted to the rank of jounin. Those who were teamed with the man during the Snow War acknowledged his abilities and were more than glad to recommend him for the rank. He took the news with no change in disposition, merely thanking the carrier of fortune before resuming his training. The ascend mattered little to the man aside from a higher pay and harder assignments. Little did he know it was only a forewarning to the drastic change about to enter his life. Or in this case, a pair of drastic changes.

He remembered her, of course. Try as he might his flawless memory refused to relinquish the knowledge of the woman’s face. She was one of his flings, a coy woman he met upon a visit to Hakusha. Two could play that game, or so he thought. That was four years ago. Now, barely a week past his return from Snow, she showed up at his door, bearing a letter from his mother and with two children in tow. Dread overwhelmed En as he opened the letter.

Apparently he wasn’t the only one with money to spare. After his sudden departure the woman found herself with child, his child. Or to be exact, children. They were twins, a boy and a girl. While she didn’t need any asset support, she wasn’t about to deprive her children the knowledge of their father nor the said man of his responsibility of the matter. A team of private investigators were hired and after four years of searching, led her to his mother. Upon the news of grandchildren, the woman was ecstatic. Still, she knew all too well the antics of her son and that not even her persuasion could coax him into marriage. Instead she found the next best solution; her grandchildren and unofficial daughter-in-law shall migrate to Konohagakure. He would be given the responsibility of shared parenting duties and to do his best to take his new rank with diligence.

What could he do? If the woman was poor, he could have bribed her with wealth to compensate. But alas, no such luck. Instead he was stuck now, not only jounin but father to a pair of rascals whose only apparent reason for existence was to fill his spare time with absurd questions, wreck havoc in his home, demand a new activity every five minutes and make his life miserable. Thank heavens the two were only given to his care on the weekends, or the jounin truly wondered how he would ever retain his hold on sanity.

But still, slowly but steadily, they were growing on him.

    Other Information:

    - He fails as a parent. The man has no notion of discipline and allows the twins to do whatever they want.
    - The girl's name is Hariki, the boy's Mizura.

It's good, yea. A bit more passionate than I'm used to seeing, and I enjoyed it for that. I'm sure all you EoE checked the math and stuff for me, because my main concern is content. If not, well. You'll all be wearing much different colors
