  • Yamakazi Ritsuke [Leaf Chuunin]

    Name: Yamakazi Ritsuke
    Age: 17
    Sex: Female
    Height: 5'8

    Character Type: Shinobi
Country/Village: Hi no Kuni - Konohagakure
    Rank: Chuunin
    Division: Omoi

Physical Description: Plain but attractive. Average but appealing. There is something about Ritsuke that is mysteriously captivating. It may be her eyes—round, crystal-like orbs clad in green and blue tones. They aren't particularly special, but there's an inevitable pull in her gaze that has the potential to interrupt your thoughts. Her long, orange hair has been minced and shaped by her own fingers into a short, boyish cut. The silky amber locks tend to get messy and disheveled, but she has starting nurturing them more. Her tiny, lean physique appears even smaller with shorter hair. She was never the muscular type but lately Ritsuke's body has been thinner and bonier. Perhaps she had always been that way, no one just cared to notice. However to anyone who has known Ritsuke for years, the most discernible trait is the lack of dark bags beneath her eyes. Without them, her face is softer, more innocent, prettier. Somehow, she looks more feminine than she ever did.

Clothing: Ritsuke doesn't really care about what she wears. Usually, if it's comfortable and it fits, then she'll wear it. Most of the clothing in her closet doesn't resemble much of what a girl her age should wear. There are only a select few outfits that when she wears, she actually looks like a girl instead of hiding her body. But you don't see her in those much. What you do see her in usually is a black, loose crop top, a pair of fitted jeans, and some dirty sneakers. Ritsuke rarely wears her hitae-ate, but when she does, it's tied around her forehead.

Personality: Still awkward, but not excessively uncomfortable to be around, her life has shifted into a different stage causing her behavior to change as well. She's become icier, partially because she has been considering things through a logical and objective lens. Her emotions have a lot of pressure on her idea of objectivity though. She plays situations to receiving the outcome most desirable for her.

Her wants have become her top priority. She is less passive and relaxed about life. If she wants something, she's going to act on it. The girl has become somewhat of an adrenaline junkie and seeks the blood rush, partially because she has not experienced much of life but craves all of it. Only during missions where she in utter danger has Ritsuke felt that adrenaline . Otherwise, things have always been a slow-paced walk for her, but she yearns to sprint. She loves the rush, she loves the sensationalism that life can become, the explosion of emotions that follow.

The girl has an agenda and she works for it every day. However it does not make her seem self-entitled and egotistical, in fact she's still most of her usual, skeptical self. She has trouble keeping conversation with people, sharing her thoughts in a constructive way, and enjoys time alone as she always has. But she has realized that she dislikes his side of her and is seeking to become a new, better Ritsuke.

Biography: This story is nothing special, it starts out like most. There was a damsel in distress, and then her valiant knight arrived to save her from danger. Well, it was more like her house started to burn after a candle tipped over and in about five minutes, she was stuck on the second floor, crying out for help. And then he arrived. She was amazed at how muscular he was, the glow his face held, how sexy he looked while sweating, and the courage he possessed to jump through the fire. She held on to him and he held on to her as the couple ran out of the burning house. Finally, after being exposed to the smoke, the woman was able to inhale some fresh air (and the smell of his very expensive cologne). The brave man set her down and when she turned to him, their love story began.

He was a shinobi and she was a cook. Together, they made the perfect couple. After two years of dating, they decided to take the next step and got married. Life was good for the newlyweds and it became better when she found out that she was pregnant. Nine months later, a baby cried. Everyone thought the child was cute when she batted her eyelashes, sucked on her bottle, reached her little baby hands out, and even burped. "Look at those cheeks, I just want to squeeze them!" Yeah. Right.

Both of her parents loved her very much and they spoiled her with gifts, trying to make her the happiest baby in all of Konoha. Everything was going right for the couple, there were no obstacles, no problems, nothing. But this story ends on a sad note. One day, the woman receives a letter from the Konohagakure Shinobi Department and bursts out crying. The kid, who was now about four years old, goes over to her mother and stares in to the woman's glassy, red eyes. I guess you know what was in that letter so I probably won't mention it.

Next thing you know, the mother is depressed because the love of her life died. The child now understands what happened and doesn't know what to do. Both of them cry everyday and neither are happy. The toys that were once as valuable as gold to the infant are now just reminders of her amazing father. The mom can't even stay in her bedroom for longer than five minutes because she keeps thinking about all the good times the couple shared. One morning, as she is preparing breakfast, she gets an idea that brings a smile to her face.

She decided to enroll her child in the Shinobi Academy. Pulling the little girl off the chair, she drags her to the school and makes her stare at it for a good minute, hoping she'll understand the meaning behind it. It was here that her father went when he was a child, it was here that he was taught a great deal of techniques to not only protect himself, but his village, and it was this school that gave him the courage to save her mother on the day they met. But all the girl does is just pick her nose and maybe try a few of her boogers. Before she is able to the try the one with some yellow crust on top of it, she is pulled in to a room of kids around her age. She stares at them and they stare back. In almost an instant, she is lost in the crowd of stuffed animals and puzzle pieces. Now you'd think that the mother would be a little smarter than to teach her child how to kill people and bring pain, but you're dead wrong.

The years of being an Academy student were tedious and full of childish activities. Whenever the child excelled at something, her mother would only pay attention to that which her father was best at. If it was something else, it was ignored. The little soon-to-be-shinobi didn't see a point in trying any harder because her mother didn't really recognize her talent so she kind of... Stopped. She didn't try hard, but she still continued to pass her tests because she kind of liked the idea of being able to do shinobi stuff. And on one test, she passed so well that she became a Genin. The mother was finally proud of her child so a party was thrown for just the two of them. It was boring, I must admit, considering that the kid was older and wasn't as close to her mother as she used to be, but the food was delicious. That was definitely the best part. The next day she was assigned to a team, both team mates with parents as shinobi so they were motivated. Now the problem is that the main character of this story doesn't have a reason to continue on with this shinobi thing. Other than enjoying the power it gave it her, she didn't really enjoy it. The girl started to do horribly on her missions so her mother lecture her on the importance of being a shinobi. Still, she didn't care. And that was when the father was brought up. Her mother began to compare her to him in every aspect, explaining to her that he wouldn't have wanted her to fail the way she did. Instead of inspiring the girl, it sucked out whatever motivation she had in her right out. It's not that she didn't love her father, but she just hated the fact that her mother would use that as a reason to persuade her because honestly, it was low.

The Genin began to develop an attitude toward her mother and the tension between the two of them grew. The woman forced her child to do better, but it only added more stress and soon she pushed her daughter so far as to developing a condition that gave her trouble sleeping during the night and actually falling asleep. Within years, the relationship between the mother and the daughter crumbled to pieces. The mother would compare her to other shinobi, especially those who belonged to clans. She even compared her to that retarded one who called himself a fist. Regardless, the daughter still continued to go on missions with her team and actually did them to just get her mother to shut up for the night.

Eventually, the girl's team went on to the Chuunin Exams. Everyone was excited to be able to fight and meet shinobi from other countries, they were all so pumped, except for her. The Genin just rolled her eyes as her mother lectured her on the importance of winning. "It's for your father, remember that. He'd be proud if you won. Think of him." Soon, the girl was off with her team. It was easy at first, but progressively grew harder as a new challenge appeared. Of course she could quit, but it would be annoying to listen to her mother nag and yap about how her father would never quit and so on. So instead of giving up, she harnessed all the anger she had for her mother and concentrated it in to a force during the final stage of the Chuunin Exams. She had to fight a shinobi from the Hidden Sand who seemed to really like to pick at her for being a girl. She didn't cry about it, she used it to her advantage when she kicked his ass, actually.

A few weeks later, she was promoted to Chuunin. Now that she was a Chuunin, things would be just a little easier, right? Wrong. She had more responsibilities and her mother just added to the headache. She had missions that were more important than finding someone's lost cat or raking their lawn. The kunoichi had to go to other countries, protect important letters, and even help train little, bratty Genin. Then, the war started.

During the Snow War, that was when her whole house was decorated with the flag of Konoha and the anthem became her alarm in the morning. If anyone could be considered a zealot of Konohagakure, than it was her mother. The constant voice of her mother cheering on for the shinobi of Leaf was just too annoying, although it was one of the things that helped her sleep at night when she came back in to her tent after a rough day of fighting on the snow field (but shhh, don't tell anyone). Yes, the Chuunin was sent out to Snow to help her village. Not only was it freezing, but it was also scary and difficult knowing that she could die at any moment. Her father was leading such a great life and then it was taken away in almost an instant. The same thing could happen to her. Her father was already gone, and frankly, she was scared of what her mother might do if the girl died. Finally, after finishing one of the twenty letters her mother sent her, the war ended and she returned to the sight of her mother waving the flag on their porch, crying out her name, and holding a plate of pie in her other hand.

After the war, maybe she felt some patriotic feeling toward her village, but it disappeared almost as quickly as her mother told her she needed to start thinking about choosing a division. What she really meant was to go where her father was. And with that, the protagonist of this story stood up and walked right out of the house. So you're wondering who this mystery character is, right? Well, unfortunately, it's me, Yamakazi Ritsuke.

    Other Info:
    - If you haven't guessed, she suffers from insomnia.
    - She seems a little bland right now, but she will develop through RP. Promise. <3
