While those who only have a cursory understanding of the Hidden Village of Stone's ninjutsu techniques might reduce Doton to some simple concepts such as "throw element, block with element, make weapons with element", as a jounin explores the deeper connection they share with the Earth element - - and thus the planet we stand upon - - they learn to manipulate the most basic connection we all share with the earth itself. The "Weighted Boulder" techniques were once considered the trademark techniques of the Tsuchikage in the past, and in her goal to claim the top spot of her ninja village, Sajime Sahori has recovered these once forgotten techniques.

      Doton: Kajugan no Jutsu
      Earth Style: Weighted Boulder Technique

Weighted Boulder technique can be used both externally (as an attack) and internally (as a utility), but only one such mode may be activated per cast.

Used externally, this technique is activated after performing the necessary handseals and then pointing their palm out towards their target with their fingers spread. by peering through the slots made by their index and middle finger and their ring finger and small finger, they can dramatically increase the earth's pull on a target - - organic or not. The target is suddenly suspect to an intense increase in gravity, reducing their Taijutsu Speed Scaling by a number equal to the caster's highest stage in this ninjutsu list. If the target's speed is reduced to 0 or lower, their bodies start to be overcome by the earth itself and their bodies start to petrify. If their speed would be reduced to -2 or lower, their bodies start to fall apart, piece by piece. If used on an inorganic target, it can be sunk into the ground and hidden away in this fashion. This technique ends when the user loses eye contact of their target, either when it's swallowed under the earth or their vision is obscured by cover (or even blinking).

If used internally, the final move of forming the handseals involves striking with a physical attack - - either with a held weapon or their own limbs. Rocks sprout around the attacking implement or limb and are suddenly brought down with terrible force - - effectively, the caster reduces their own Taijutsu Speed Scaling by 2 and increases their Taijutsu Strength Scaling by 2. This technique's effects remain until dismissed.

      Doton: Chokajugan no Jutsu
Earth Style: Super Weighted Boulder Technique

A far more advanced version of the original technique, the user ends the casting method by extending out both hands to create a diamond shape between their index fingers and thumbs. The external version of this technique now reduces scaling by half-again as many stages as the user has in this ninjutsu list, and the internal version allows the user to reduce their speed all the way down to one (or any number in between) and increase their strength by the same amount.

      Doton: Keijugan no Jutsu
      Earth Style: Lightweight Boulder Technique

Lightweight Boulder technique can be used both externally (as an attack) and internally (as a utility), but only one such mode may be activated per cast.

When cast externally, the user slams their palms down onto the ground and produces a pulse of energy that travels outward in a circular ripple from the point of impact. Everything that's touching the ground in the area of effect (1 shinobi battle arena, idfk) that isn't rooted down is suddenly lurched into the air for a few moments in a period of weightlessness, before suddenly being pulled back to the ground at their regular gravitational pull. For most shinobi and trained combatants, this is a simple enough thing to recover from.

When cast internally, the user forms a unique handseal that looks like a reversed bird, with the index fingers pointing downwards and the wrists turned. This reduces the caster's strength by 2 scales, but allows him unfettered flight through the air.

      Doton: Chokeijugan no Jutsu
Earth Style: Super Lightweight Boulder Technique

A far more advanced version of the original technique, the user ends the casting method by extending out both hands to create a diamond shape between their index fingers and thumbs. This technique has the specific purpose of moving massive objects into the air, such as stopping a meteor from crushing a village, or lifting a giant turtle island from the sea. Objects may be suspended in the air for as long as the user can maintain their visual contact on the object between their diamond-shaped hand formation.

This specifically acts as a counter to techniques that drop massive amounts of earth or debris onto a targeted area, regardless of the stage - - but would be useless against fireballs or energy based attacks, for instance.

When used internally, allows for rapid overland flight - - but the speed is impossible to maintain in any form of combat, acting only as a way to travel away from combat or to be used as a transportation method.

      BUSHIDO
      Way of the Warrior

"Righteousness, courage, charity, respect, honesty, honor, loyalty. Seven paths that I've failed, seven paths that I'll redeem."

      KAI-MON - Initial Gate
Kai-mon techniques focus on strength. With the initial gate allowing the user to flex the full natural capability of their muscles, ignoring their limits, these techniques usually cause a great deal of strain to the body. The attack performs one great feat of strength that can be followed by smaller attacks.

      KYU-MON - Healing Gate
Similar to the gate techniques of Kai-mon gate, the Kyu-mon relies on one burst of strength that pushes the body to the limit. The difference is that Kyu-mon resets the body before the techniques are used, allowing more daring and dangerous combinations.

      SEI-MON - Life Gate
Gate techniques after Sei-mon is open can take advantage of the increased accuracy of their senses to perform attacks in quick succession that require specific movements. While a strong blow and a grab isn't that difficult, grabbing specific limbs in succession, or striking specific places on a moving target, are helped by the use of the gate of life being open.

      SHO-MON - Pain Gate
After Sho-mon, gate techniques take on a new level of recklessness. The user knows they are ripping their muscles as they use them, but the pain is gone, and therefore the reluctance to push to the limit is removed. The pain gate opens up wild combinations, attacks that put the user's own body front and center as the projectile, and others that would be too dangerous for someone who could feel their own body falling apart.

      TO-MON - Limit Gate
With To-mon, gate techniques don't change much from their previous form. One difference is that these attacks are more likely to ignore or shrug off the actions of the opponent. Not that it provides resistance to damage, it just becomes more common to attack into a blow, or continue to attack through a counter-attack.

      KEI-MON - View Gate
The most distinct part of gate techniques with Kei-mon is that their every action leaves a lasting trail of chakra. Gate techniques in this stage may even use the aftermath of chakra from attacks to perform physical blows without physically touching, or leave the target enveloped in a mass of expelled chakra.

      KYO-MON - Wonder Gate
At the point of Kyo-mon, the line between taijutsu and ninjutsu begins to blur. Gate Techniques allow the blending of the mass of secreted chakra, and physical movements, to blast opponents with all manner of powerful attacks. The names of mythical techniques start to become literal, as the user's essential chakras answer to the call, and take the proper shape to save the day.

      SHI-MON - Death Gate
The user's aura itself is now dangerous. The lifeblood chakra spilling from their body is volatile to everyone and everything around them, making techniques able to completely shred enemies just with proximity. Physical blows are earth shattering, god-killing, and life-ending for all parties involved.

          HISAN no SEKKAIKENFU

          SCATTERING STONE FIST STYLE

          A: Reserves
          B: Control
          C: Power
          D: Strength
          E: Stamina

          Basis: Chakra / Doton: Fist

          Style description

HISAN no SEKKAIKENFU is a shinobi martial art system that incorporates teachings of various native EARTH COUNTRY schools. To the average person, the temples hidden in the mountain ranges and deep in the forests represent a lifetime of pilgrimage and study - - but all these styles eventually came to the heart of martial innovation in the country, the great IWAGAKURE. The shinobi in this hotbed of combat and study eventually gave birth to a new system of combat, the mystic and magical flurry of their stone gauntlets a mere distraction for their mastery of their chakra arts.

Characterized most accurately as a hybrid style, it’s relative youth means a lack of rigid structure in the training methods of the physical martial arts in the style. Most practitioners of HISAN no SEKKAIKENFU tend to be innovators themselves, and it’s an exciting time for growth and glory in the school’s development. Some opt for stances and aggression inherent in the bone-breaking taijutsu arts from those originating schools that emulated the great bears of the forests and the terrifying mountain tiger, where some find themselves more comfortable with the internal FLOW agreeable with styles that looked towards mythological dragons or heavenly military generals for guidance. The signature stance for the style, however, shares a consistent thread amongst all actors in the Scattering Stone Fist – crossing one fist over the heart or face, and the other over the groin or outer thigh, the artist protects their most sensitive external and internal parts, while also opening up their chakra system to allow for maximum FLOW. This combination of the physical and spiritual martial arts is what transcends the school from a Gakuryoku Library special to a terrifying weapon on the battlefield.

(Combo OK) – any number of these techniques can be chained together in a devastating blow, assuming you have your opponent’s permission

(On Hit Confirm) – if this follows up a (Combo OK) technique, it requires a stroke of luck or genius to evade.

(Combo Finisher) – ends a combo, typically with flurry or flourish

          Stage One
Stage Requirements: Reserves 4, Control 4
          Stage Bonuses: +3 Strength

The foundation of Scattering Stone Fist lies in the combination of shinobi-style ninjutsu and taijutsu training alongside the study of the traditional style martial arts of the Earth Country. To get to this first step up the mountain trail, the artist has likely already learned and mastered a half dozen or more traditional styles available to civilians and monks of the area - - these courses and rapid study programs make up the heart of the shinobi academy’s taijutsu training, although some had the opportunity to travel and study under various masters.

Stance and posture tend to be one of personal discovery, but it tends to follow the simple rule of protecting high and low, one hand over the face or heart, the other over the groin or external thigh. While the traditional stance involves crossing the arms over the body, some opt for more aggressive stances.

          Regular Techniques

          Pickaxe Strike (Combo OK)
Description: A leverage attack that uses the artist’s own body weight and strength to deliver a blow. A sharp elbow or the broadside of a hand or the heel of an extended leg is brought down or out and away from the artist in a swinging form. This “long” strike helps establish optimal range for the fighter to follow up with other attacks.

          Rising Force (Combo OK)
Description: Using the core of the body, the fighter brings up a powerful uppercut or rising knee to either launch their target a few feet airborne or to splinter their defenses and open them up for additional abuse.

          Cave-in Palm (Combo OK)
Description: An open palm strike that targets the solar plexus. A direct hit can knock the air out of the opponent. (A deep breath or resetting your stance is all an experience taijutsu artist needs to reset this condition.)

          Special Techniques

          Earth Flow Disruption: Shockwave
Description: Assuming their basic stance, the fighter opens up their chakra flow and violently expels it from their feet. Anyone on the same surface and within a number of feet equal to the fighter’s stages in this style suffer a sudden disruption in their footing, like a train car shifting. Has no effect on airborne targets or targets that have two or more stages of taijutsu training than you.

          Stage Two
Stage Requirements: Reserves 8, Control 6, Strength 6
          Stage Bonuses: +3 Strength

Return of the Six Stroke Shooting Star...!
            _________________________________

            KOSAI "ROKU" RYUUSEI
            _________________________________

The Dunepunk Windboarder with the Gear Arm!

The Last Ace in a Lost Hand

            [Name] Kosai Ryuusei
            [Age] 24
            [Sex] Male
            [Height] 6’4’’

            [Character Type] Shinobi

[Country/Village] Kaze no Kuni, Sunagakure no Sato
            [Rank] Jounin
            [Division] SUNA - Officer

            [Physical Description]

            Like an explosion in freeze-frame.

Ryuusei is a man of extremes - - towering over most other ninja with his six foot four height and filling out his weight-class neatly with a muscular figure without an ounce of extra fat (citation needed), he's a hulking figure of a soldier with a crazy dark brown mop of curly hair fluffing around on top of his head. His eyes - - blue like a Husky, but speckled with a brilliant rainbow of colors due to his manipulation of some weird mystical starmetal - - are INTENSE, always on the look out for the next big thing. Like any great warrior, he's always busted up from one adventure or the next, but when he does clean up nice he kinda has a boyish charm to him.

You can't dodge the question too much, though! His left arm was lost in a horrible accident while he was protecting the ideals of his ninja village! That mass of metal and woodworks is inspired by his own father's puppeteering magic is a hand-built machine perfectly suited for his unique chakra-enhanced fighting style. While the gnarly scar around the shoulder/torso port of the arm and the inhuman engine sounds it makes, it sure as hell makes the man more striking than he ever was before.

He moves with a sort of grace that's hard to overlook. With enough finesse to handle himself on the most wicked tempests this side of the country, but strong enough to topple his enemies during shinobi work, Ryuusei's always been a shining star of the sport -- keep your eyes open, ladies! A guy like this has to settle down sometime.

--Windboarder's Annual Special Edition: The Greatest Heroes of the Sport

            [Clothing]

To be honest, if it wasn't for his warrior's physique or his handsome, boyish charm -- Ryuusei's daily wear would be better suited for the pages of Cringes Weekly. However, he wears his printed anime t-shirts and jeans with a certain self-aware humbleness that's consistently charmed us here at this rag as well as nation-wide fans of the sport. His athletic shoes can definitely be called SNEAKERS, since they're the only designer brand personally endorsed by a high ranking shinobi of Sunagakure, soft soled with enough grip for windboarding but breathable enough for the wall walking technique. His weapon-kit harness perfectly matches the boarder's style, hanging on his hips with a proper cowboy style. That green jacket of his is practically legendary - - covered in the patches of his sponsors as well as running tally of his accomplishments, both on the board and on the field as a ninja.

There's been a few shots of Ryuusei caught in the traditional shinobi attire of the Sunagakure elite, or even darker and lighter clothing for work outside of the country, but good luck catching shots of a ninja in proper action.

--Dunepunk Essentials: Gear to beat the Grime

            [Personality]

Impressively tenacious, infectiously motivated, impetuously daring. My boy Roku's really turned his life around. It's like he's always moving with a groove in his step, lightning in his feet and wind at his back. He's got a weird way with words, where it feels like he can really get it, even if he doesn't get it. That nerd says it's called empathy, but I call it friendship. We used to always call him everyone's second best friend - - he's a loner that seems to always have your back when you need it. A real selfless type who's always sticking his neck out for others. Back then, he used to lead the worst of the dunepunks and got us on the straight and narrow - - mostly. Nowadays he's ruling over entire squadrons, keepin' the whole village safe! An' my boy is STILL humble! Yeah, sometimes he talks a real big game, but that's like, intimidation tactics. He's kinda deep, though. I guess when you've gotten so close to dyin' as many times as he has, you start to see the world different. To me, Roku represents the best of us. Never backing down from his ideals, sticking true to his heart even when it pushes people against him - - he's got these creepy resin anime girl figures all over his room, it's like, dude, do you even get laid? But that's Roku for you, man - he knows who he is and he ain't pushing against it.

I just wish the dude wasn't so hard on himself. Roku, if you're reading this, none of us blame you for what happened with your Pops, and you know the few of us that didn't get on track sure as hell aren't out there doin' god knows what out of some spite for you. You're the man, man. Stay true, fly high.

              [SOUND] Amagiri Gedo

              Amagiri Gedo
              [The Macabre Magus]

              [The Long-Haired One]
              11 years
              onee-san
              4'7"

              shinobi academy student in otogakure
              path of flesh

              physical description
"It's like looking into the mirror..."

Gedo grew her hair out, taking to carefully trimming her bangs and brushing out her hair every day to train it out into a long and silky cowl, only to be disappointed that people still couldn't tell her apart from her short-haired, spunkier sister. Try as she might, she couldn't ever get the small sprigs (sometimes, "ahoge") of stray hair to stay tucked away on her head. Despite insistence that her eyes were a steely grey -- or at least a shade lighter, they were virtually identical to her sister's rich sky blue. Sharp and small describe their nose and eyebrows, quick punctuation on youthful faces. Without a doubt, Gedo and Naido where near-perfectly identical twins.

Older by four minutes and forty four seconds, Gedo carries a stigma as the left-handed twin. Her internal organs, the parting of her hair, her primary handedness are all a mirror image of her sister's, as if they laid next to a perfect mirror. The most obvious identifying trait between the two girls is a small mole they both have below their breast--Gedo's left, Naido's right. Until Gedo was old enough to start growing out her hair to make the distinction easier, the Naga researchers would occasionally toss items at the girls, checking who caught with which hand. The clever girls have become ambidextrous in an effort to confuse their caretakers.

Slinky like a snake, Gedo stands at her full height with a slight impatient twist to her hips almost always. Her body language carries a bristling energy to her, like she'd always rather be somewhere else or doing something else. That sort of energy can be infectious, helping her lead others to action. Despite using her height and strong stance to look down on others, occasionally with a sneer, she's actually rather helpful and sweet, eager to assist in any way she can. This is represented in the softness of her face and her relatively open stance, puffing out her chest in pride and keeping her hands relaxed. Compared to her sister, she has more pale skin, and a thinner frame--she doesn't carry the muscle of a more advanced shinobi.

Her face is incredibly expressive, so it could be said she wears her heart on her sleeve--but she has an unfortunate flaw in that she comes off as a bit severe. A smile can seem like a sneer, concern can look sarcastic, and frustration can be exaggerated. Those who get to know Gedo learn quickly to read her facial expressions for what they are, but it makes it more difficult to bring people in close. The very air around her is prim, proper, and a bit snooty--pride manifested.

On the back of her left, dominant hand is a small faded scar, the beginnings of a curse seal slowly being worked over the recent months by her Naga benefactors. Her right arm tends to be hidden beneath clean and twisted bandages and a soft silk glove, to hide her arm cannon surgery. Despite the implant being a relative success, Gedo hasn't mastered the art, so it's an embarrassing reminder of how far she has to go.

As a child of the Naga, she never received an eighth note tattoo.

              clothing/dress
"Even if it's a bit much, she looks comfy!"

She's fond of the color red, if only because it contrasts her eyes and make them look lighter than they really are. The color of passion and forward thinking, the wild flare of her rebellion, and a comforting warmth amid the dark caverns of the Necropolis. Even if she doesn't make it a major part of her outfit, she tends to splash it in somehow--if only just in the ribbons in her hair.

Her long hair is held in place with two ribbons, giving her a set of twin tails, but even more hair spills down the back of her head. Occasionally she'll opt for braids and a single more elaborate bow, but that's more for special occasions. Very rarely will she let her hair down entirely, either a result of her prim attitude or out of a modesty. While recently she's become a bit more adventurous in her clothing, she's very fond of keeping most of her skin covered up. High socks, boots, layered clothing with jackets or dresses, half arm gloves, and the like. She can come off looking a bit like a foreign princess, or maybe someone who's a bit much into gothic lolita fashion, but everything comes together nicely on her frame.

Her tastes can be a bit on the elaborate side, more idol than researcher, but more likely than anything it's an attempt to hide away the nastier parts of her life in beauty--a poisonous flower. Her ninja garb is a skintight black leotard, typically paired with leggings of the same material, with her bandages wrapped around her off hand and her good arm bare.

Occasionally, she's not as brave as she had planned, and pulls over a jacket or sweater to give herself a bit more modesty. She half-hardedly calls this her gothic shinobi aesthetic...but only to herself.

              personality
"She has a smile just for me...but I hope one day she can wear it always."

              Rebellion.

She doesn't look like it, with her prim posing and elegant dress, but Gedo is a hot-blooded rebel. Headstrong, stubborn, and more than eager to prove herself, Gedo doesn't take well to authority and constantly tries to push the limits around her. While she understands the reasoning for law and rules, she doesn't understand the concept of following just to keep the status quo. Like an elegant ghost, she slips through the systems of Otogakure with a practiced poise, always willing to find any loophole or oversight to manage her gains. While not a criminal or lawbreaker, she's hardly morally clean.

Perhaps a side-effect from her overactive coil system, but once Gedo manages to wake up out of bed, she's a tightly wound filament of energy. She's capable of staying active at full tilt, studying or training or exploring, keeping her mood elevated. This is marred by occasional periods of depression and lethargy, but even a prodigal Naga needs time to rest and recover.

Her dedication and drive would be considered unparalleled for her peers, if she was anywhere but Otogakure. She has the researcher's knack of an high academia student and the eager trendsetting of a upstart entrepreneur. Her energy can be infectious.

While more solitary than social, she has a sweet disposition and an understanding personalty that makes her a bit popular with her peers. She's a practiced "older sister", even to someone of the same age. This same disposition lends her to be a bit apart from the others.

Despite her tragedy, she smiles. Despite loss, she gives. Despite her sorrow, she finds joy.

"The Amagiri clan has mutated chakra coils--often with 50% more capacity than a regular man. To the Amagiri themselves, these extra coils are like the appendix--useless, wasting the body's precious resources. But to the Naga..."

In Old Otogakure, the Amagiri ninja family was more than capable, often producing strong and stable shinobi for generations. There was a legend that the family had been granted a portion of divinity by a wise and terrible dragon, so they wore the symbol of a coiled winged serpent fashioned as an ouroboros as a family crest.

Inside the serpent's clutches rested six triangles, three stacked into a pyramid like the ancient Hojo clan, and three spanning outwards on the junctions. These were said to represent the two paths towards divinity--the path within, enlightenment, and the path out, wisdom. The empty core in the center was said to represent a dark void, a shadow that was at the heart of all ninja. For truth, the Amagiri always considered their blessing of health and luck to be one end of a terrible curse: No Amagiri ever lived into old age.

During the Soundfall, there wasn't many Amagiri healthy enough to run or fight, and those that did became scattered. It came to pass 11 years ago that a pair of twins was born to the last known remaining couple of Amagiri. The mother died in childbirth, an unfortunate trend of Amagiri births, and the father, a proud Nomad warrior, died in combat not soon after. His teammates claimed he was mad with grief and rage, made poor decisions--and that left his two little girls without anyone to care for them. A group of traders appeared, offering to take the orphan girls in exchange for medicine and treatments for the tribesmen. This was worth more than gold--and definitely worth more than two helpless, orphaned infants. These two girls would leave with the traders and would be brought back to the Catacombs of the Naga --- never knowing the group that was responsible for their parents' deaths would become their adoptive family, their doctors and researchers, the coiled snakes around their hearts.

This is the story of the oldest of the two remaining survivors of the cursed Amagiri clan...

                ENTON

                (BLAZE RELEASE)
Sometimes referred to as "Inferno Style", Enton (Blaze Release) is considered to be the pinnacle of Katon (Fire Release) techniques. Previously thought to be the result of a kekkei genkai, other fire specialists outside of various bloodline clans have managed to command these unique flames over the years. Enton creates black flames known as "Kokuen", which are unique, lingering curses that can burn for seven days and seven nights even without a fuel source. It's said only the creator of a Kokuen flame can extinguish them. Luckily, Kokuen flames burn slowly enough that inflamed clothing can be cast aside without much injury. Simply casting an Enton is a serious commitment by the user: the black flames burn so hot that creating them in your chakra coils causes lasting, sometimes permanent damage. It's for this reason that the Hokage, past and present, have labeled this dangerous form of Katon a Kinjutsu ("Forbidden Technique").

                Kinjutsu - Enton: Amateratsu
                Stage X

This technique doesn't require handseals, but holding the tiger seal while performing this technique can help reduce some of the strain on the user. Temporarily going blind in one eye, the shinobi casting this forbidden technique conjures Kokuen in the line of sight of their other eye (which eye is dependent on the user, but can never change, even in the event of the loss of an eye). These Kokuen flames are slow burning, but impossibly hot flames that can devour any known material. Due to the slow burning nature, common defenses to this technique involve simply discarding the clothing or armor that's burning, pushing the flames away with wind or other materials, chakra absorption techniques, or even using fuinjutsu, such as the Fire-Sealing Method or Evil-Sealing Method. You can safely cast Amateratsu once per thread with a one thread cooldown. Every additional casting of this jutsu within this period of time causes damage to your eye which causes temporary blindness for a post (although your other eye recovers normally). Being blind, of course, removes your ability to cast this jutsu. The flames created by Amateratsu are roughly one square foot and can't be extinguished by traditional means (smothering with sand or water, removing oxygen from the area, or even Katon-defeating ninjutsu), but the user can will them to disappear, which is useful if the flames are pushed back onto them.

Eye Damage Structure (Over a Two Thread Period):
Once cast: Pain to the eye and chakra coil, but otherwise recovers normally.
Twice cast: Blindness to the eye for the rest of the thread after the technique is completed.
Thrice cast (ie, casting in three threads in a row, or casting twice in one thread and once in the next): Permanent blindness to the eye. The eye can be replaced by the standard means (implants, etc) or healed by a jounin level medical ninja, but only by a jounin level medical ninja that also knows this technique.

VD'S Super Simple Mission and Reward Structure

To keep in theme with Naruto, missions are arranged by a letter grade rank, with S+ and S++ suggesting SUPER difficult missions for FUNSIES. All missions listed regularly are intended to be completed by anyone who wants to take them and fits the mission rank. No "oh, that mission is important to Sunagakure's plot, so only my character can do it" SEIKON

But, wait! There's also a slot for personal request missions for characters in the village. Everytime you rate a thread / someone rates a thread for a character in your village, if they don't already have a special mission, generate one for them. It's okay if it's a generic mission (go get this, go kill that, go whatever), but try and base it around two things: The character's specialization (A Hyuuga might be needed to investigate a crime, or to punch a chakra-trained warrior) and the player's general interests (VD likes shounen threads and crying threads!), so a good mission for Hyuuga Yuu might be: [C-Rank. Hyuuga Yuu, assemble a team and investigate the murders around [Town]. Special Information: There's a chuunin nukenin from Snow there, and he's hurting people! But he's doing it out of the grief of his own village.] Or something. Yuu's all about this kind of shit, mechanically, and VD's all about having SAD BOY, SCREAMING YOUR NINDOS in his threads. Win win!

Everytime your character completes a mission, they get a token based on that mission's rank. These tokens are "low, mid, high" grade. They change based on your rank. Performing missions above your rank are possible, and they grant you BONUS tokens. Players don't have to know about the token system specifically. These tokens are used to trade for rewards (if the players aren't offered tokens specifically, offer them the bonus after their next rated thread). Example rewards: special items. (Konoha's White Fang, Madara's Fire Control Fan, a Jar that Seals Bijuu). "forbidden" techniques (Say, a stage 3 technique that has a stage 4-5 technique, but comes with a terrible cost to the user [like being frozen in pain after]. These scale to their appropriate stages to be used as a special technique, later on in character development). Summoning lists. Introduction into Special Forces. "allied shinobi list" jutsu selection (How many threads has Yuu done in Sunagakure? All of them?). "Oh, but these are really powerful items/jutsu/rewards!! I don't wanna give them to just anyone!" yeah, dummy, they're going to the people actively playing in your village and showing an interest in your plots.

The general mission list can be generic. People can be encouraged to make their own missions if they don't like the generic ones. The primary benefit is getting a feel for the types of threads people like to do so you can make the missions specific to the character. This makes people feel invested in their characters and feel that the GM cares about what their characters are up to. People shouldn't feel like the GMs hate them for blowing up islands or don't appreciate the effort they make in their threads. Rewards should be given openly and regularly. The difference between a character with a lot of threads done and a character with 100 AP should be obvious: The character who's actually put in the work has access to things AP can't buy.

Overall goals, like Sunagakure, is also cool, I'll be stealing that.

Leaf Rewards: Summons, special fans that control fire without handseals, Mass Shadow Clone no Jutsu.
Stone Rewards: Tons of unique artifacts. Jars that eat chakra, fans that spit all five elements. Introduction into special forces. WP that goes additional to the typical caps of WP (we rich.)

                  [Otogakure Kitaeru] Yaken

                  Name: Yaken
                  Age: 16
                  Sex: Male
                  Height: 5'8''

Country/Village: Ta no Kuni / Otogakure no Sato [Information]
                  Rank: Kitaeru (Genin equivalent)
Division: Naga Experiment: Homunculus - Path of Flesh

                  Y a k e n
                  e l e c t r i c ·¤· w o r r y

"One goal keeps me going: take back what I lost to the bosses of greed and fear."

                  Physical Description:

"What are you writing down? Hey! I killed that guy, right? Don't you have to tell me what's going on now? If you don't talk for fifteen minutes, doesn't that mean I get to leave?"
He wears a weariness on his face unfitting his years, the furrow of his brow and sneer of his face a near constant, sullen visage. Perhaps more unfitting for his years are his broad shoulders, impressive height, and muscular structure: garnered gains from a what appears to be a lifetime of physical training. His straw-colored hair is a deeper tangerine color in it’s thick bodied curls, a military-style shaven undercut keeping his hair away from his ear line. The thick curls spill over his brow, covering his forehead, a haphazard haircut done more for ease rather than style. His wide eyes, typically tightened in a sharp glare, are black in color with the sharp intensity expected from a trained warrior. His body is a patchwork of scarring from the rigors of combat, contrasting his rich olive skin with twisted white patches of flesh. His torso and back, in particular, hold the worst of the scarring: these from the repeated surgeries he’s been subjected to as a Naga experimentation. His habit of smoking cigarettes leaves him smelling like burnt tobacco and smoke, combined with sweat and a typical lack of hygiene from his station. He carries himself with a certain rigidity, a tense fidgeting as if he stays on edge and impatient all the time. Just to the left of center on his throat is an eighth mark tattoo, branding him as an Otogakure shinobi for life.

                  Clothing:

"I don't know, I literally just get stuff off of dead guys. It's not like New Otogakure has set up a lot of great thread shops."
A varsity jacket with extra pockets, whatever t-shirt he could find, long pants and sneakers. His entire wardrobe is made up of stuff he robbed from the corpses of whoever he had to cut down, combined with straps and belts to fit his shinobi kit. If he was given an official uniform with the rise of New Otogakure, no one would know – he’s grown fond of his collection of spare clothing. Hoodies, jackets, or bandages wrapped up his arm: He’s grown tired of people asking about his gnarly scars. The extra padding on the back of his head either from a hood or a thick collar gives him some weird sense of peace, as if there aren’t eyes glaring at him from behind. Perhaps a great sin, but he doesn’t wear socks with his sneakers – do shinobi even know what socks are?

Either way, he covers himself up as much as possible even when it’s hot out. Maybe he’s just cold hearted.

                  Personality:

"What do you mean doesn't play well with others? I'm a GREAT teammate! Just stay out of my way!"
A lifetime of being the butt of some cosmic joke has turned Yaken into a bristly guy, but being a punk teenager has turned him sarcastic and cruel, too. These winning personality traits make it difficult for people to trust or admire him, or even offer sympathy for his treatment in the past. Scrappy and tenacious, he has a habit of pulling himself out of dangerous situations and rising to the top: but being the lone survivor on more than one occasion has given him the reputation of being a “Team-Killer”, despite it being well known among the people that he’s worked with (and that have survived), that he’s a fierce protector of his allies and even desperate to uphold his twisted views of justice. He’s obnoxious, loud, and incredibly defensive, but goes out of his way for others when he can.

While he doesn’t want admit it, but his upbringing has given him the survival skills to make it as a shinobi, so his views on the adults that forged him are a complicated mess of respect and distaste. His sweet, protective side is normally swallowed up by his angry boasting and fierce obsession with personal growth. Those who have earned honor are worthy of respect.

Nindo; "Way of the Ninja": "The true path of the shinobi is through introspection, a deep understanding of the heart and nature. You see, chakra is a delicate expression of the spirit, and through combat, we become our true selves...in a way, we love those we subjugate, right? I'm just kidding. Kill or be killed, that's my ninja way."

Tachibana Minato was born to Tachibana Hayato and Tachibana Minoru. He was their oldest child, with two younger sisters: Tachibana Fumiko, born two years later, and Tachibana Mei born two years after that. The family was well-known for their sturdy stock of shinobi, and Minato was no exception: he took well to ninjutsu training and subjected himself to intense study and physical training to prepare himself for the Shinobi Academy of Yukigakure. This paid off handsomely, as he quickly rose to the top of his class and demanded the respect of all who observed him. This child, it was said, would be something special. In his second year of academy, he stole off into the cold of Snow country to find a rare blooming vine to celebrate Fumiko’s acceptance into the shinobi program.

He was presumed deceased, but no body was recovered.

In Rice Country, there exists a mammoth structure of a snake, dipping and curling through the country side, that eventually bites down on its own tail. It’s incredible size and length means that entire temples, towns, and trade routes can be plotted on its ridges – and on the 88th coil where an ancient and grand dojo is built, filled with monks and miko and the occasional shinobi. It was here that Minato was awoken, body mostly destroyed by frostbite and blunt trauma, to the desperate attempts of Amagiri Gedo, Naga researcher. His memories of his life before were distant nightmares, but being stitched back together by this woman made him feel a sense of comfort and attachment. He wouldn’t see her again, properly, for many years.

He was left with the Sound nomads, given an eighth mark tattoo on his neck, permanently branded as a tool, and labeled as a kitaeru. While bits and pieces of his previous training leaked through, he was years behind the others due to his restored body and hobbled mind. Every time the Naga – then disguised as typical nomads – would make their passes to check his progress and to perform their studies of his growth, they treated him as little more than an object or tool. That treatment eventually imprinted on others within the nomads, until he was subject to daily abuse from those with authority. It was a game of stress relief, to lay into the boy, until he was isolated from his peers and considered an outsider, despite his tattoo. Despite this, his performance was well-regarded. Excelling particularly in combat missions, an uncommon luck (or perhaps a blessing of the Naga) kept him alive in the worst of situations. On more than one occasion, he was the only one to return from a mission.

This created the cruel rumor that he was a team-killer, either catching revenge for his abuse on the field or simply cutting anyone that got in his way for his objective. His obsession with growth and his crass attitude didn’t help quell these rumors. Still, the other kitaeru knew the truth: “Yaken”, as he had been named, was uncommonly gentle to those below him in skill and stature. While he didn’t mind talking shit to the adults that used him, lashing out like a dog on a chain, he treated the rest of the nomads as his siblings and protected them as best he could from the worst of the nomad lifestyle. He would always come back to the camps from missions with new treats and prizes from the outside world, a habit he didn’t remember ever making.

After the resurrection of Otogakure and the reunification with the Naga, he saw her true face for the first time in a long time – Amagiri Gedo. While she had seen him quite often, in disguise or under a mask, he was finally made aware that she had been a guiding hand in his development. Gedo’s influence had kept him from the catacombs, allowed him some semblance of a normal life, but she was also the one that had sacrificed him to the Nomads and given him this life in the first place.

Yaken’s love for his “siblings”, the other nomadic kitaeru, and his self-reliance built from his harsh time as a nomad, has given him purpose to become as strong as possible. With his connection to the Naga made public knowledge both to him and the others around him, fear of the secretive organization has protected him from the most overt abuses, but it has done nothing to mend his reputation. “Team-Killer Yaken” is considered a powerful kitaeru asset, but a dangerous and hostile individual deserving of his castigation.

His first goal is to take advantage of that reputation to become a feared operative for New Otogakure.

                  Other Info:
                  - Has a collection of headbands, prizes from genin teams he tangled with during his time as a nomad.
                  - Has a weird sister complex. He likes to protect imouto types and has a weird thing for his "older sister" Amagiri Gedo. He wasn't figured what to do with that, yet.
                  - Learned his birthright Hyouton, unknowingly through the guidance of the Naga. He thought he was just a special snowflake.

                    [Otogakure Senshi] Amagiri Gedo

                    Name: Amagiri Gedo
Age: ?? (Late teens, early twenties)
                    Sex: Female
                    Height: 5’5’’

Country/Village: Ta no Kuni / Otogakure no Sato Information
                    Rank: Senshi (Jounin equivalent)
Division: Naga Researcher – Path of Flesh // Senior Officer, SAM-C

                    Physical Description:

Beauty soured by a lifetime in the shadows, glory turned to vanity.

Standing around 165cm, but weighing in at barely 45kg (100lb), a strong breeze could easily threaten to uproot her. This malnourishment renders her skin an easily bruised ruddish color, typically slick with sweat and oil. Her hair, originally a rich black, has lost its luster and hangs from her head in a haphazard cut with the edge of a kunai. It’s typically some shade of blue or purple, for the few days out of the month she suddenly cares what she looks like. She has pale and thin lips hiding sharp teeth, a prominent nose, and thin eyebrows that betray her natural haircolor. Her eyes are a snake-like yellow, and typically shaded by deep bags of sleep deprivation. Underneath her left eye is the nai lof a snake tattoo that curls around the back of her head, coils around her neck, and crosses down her back and across her breast and up her left arm where the simple striking snake head lashes at her middle finger. This simple yet massive tattoo serves in the place of an eighth note – as a Naga experiment turned researcher, she only recently considered herself a part of the Sound collective.

                    Clothing:

Like most of the Naga, she’s a secretive person, typically clad in heavy robes and hoods that blank out her tiny frame. She makes use of earth tones to camouflage herself against the underground, but a flair of her youth appears in the rich red lining. Her garments underneath—if she has need to wear anything at all—tends to be typical shinobi garb made up of a black shirt and pants.

Recently, she’s been acting as a shinobi for New Otogakure. Here, she’s like a drastically different person: wearing a typical shinobi outfit including a green flak jacket, she almost passes for a normal functioning human being...so far as you can, being a magical ninja warrior. The difference can be night and day compared to her typically drab appearance.

As a child, she was very fond of dresses and ribbons, an almost forgotten part of her past.

                    Personality:

Gedo has dedicated her life to her craft – researching a long forgotten technique – and her life in the underground, graduating from an experiment to a researcher has left her a twisted example of humanity. Once an eager overachiever, she’s become an impatient and viciously efficient machine of a woman. Results can take years to turn over in her line of work, so to keep herself from going mad, she fills her days with as many projects and tasks that she can to keep her hyperactive mind busy. This isn’t successful: she’s quite mad.

Having suffered the brunt of unrestricted experimentation in her youth, she’s cold and uncaring of the cries for help and pleas for a quick death from her own experimentations...but something inside of her, a slithering and frightening monster, feels remorse. One day, she tells herself, when she’s mastered the Edo Tensei, she can make up for this lifetime of blood.

Her fool’s errand has made her incredibly jaded and cynical, and the life of a Naga researcher is one of jealousy and sabotage.

In nearly all ways, she represents the snake.

                      The Prince
                      Black Orchid

As I dig for wild orchids
                      in the autumn fields,
                      it is the deeply-bedded root
                      that I desire,
                      not the flower.
                      [Name] Keisei Ranko ("Orchid")
                      [Age] 14
                      [Sex] Female
                      [Height] 5'1''
                      [Character Type] Non-shinobi
                      [Country] River
                      [Rank] Kounomono
[Division] The Prince of the Keisei [Information]

                      [Physical Description]
Woe to those who notices a flower's beauty but ignores its poison.

Standing at just over five feet tall, it would be easy to lose her in a crowd – if not for her unnaturally dyed gray hair and her dull red eyes. Despite her attention to her hair and dress, Ranko doesn’t spend a lot of time worrying about her eating habits, often going hours or even days without a meal, leaving her skinny and pale of skin. Her hair is long, spilling to the middle of the back, but it’s almost exclusively held up in twin tails, carefully curled, outside of the most formal of occasions. Outside of the cut of the chest of her dress and her forearms that are visible beyond her sleeves, she’s positively covered in the yakuza tattoos marking her accomplishments and deeds for the Keisei. In particular, her back threatens with a dragon curled around her namesake flower, marking her a willing murderer.
                      [Clothing]
Dress for your funeral, and you'll never be unprepared.

Indigo, gray, and black make up the bulk of her leather and lace. A fan of the ornate and the luxurious, she wears clothing that proudly displays her ability to dress for form over function. High heels, black tights, frilled skirts, long bell sleeves, adorned with ribbons – she looks rightly like she’s never had to consider a physical labor in her life. She accessorizes with a black parasol to keep the sun from burning her skin, when she has to make it out during the day. On occasion, she’ll splash in reds for intimidation or flip the script entirely with sunny and bright colors to celebrate. For particularly morbid occasions, she’ll wear a black funeral kimono, particularly before executing an execution.

                      [Personality]
The sparkling eyes of youth -- twisted, and made merciless!

The true heart of this Yakuza is one of anxiety, low self-esteem, and even a bit of self-loathing which is perhaps typical for the bancho type. This personalty, this true heart, is carefully buried under gangster posing and threatening posturing. Her powerful intellect and natural charisma provides a safe cover for her more delicate mind, justifying her cruel and vicious actions as following an internal strict code of conduct. Those who break the code – even if they didn’t know they were beholden to it – have earned their punishment. Her years of study have made her a master of finding the “in-betweens” of language, and her worldwide series of contacts have made her a powerful player on the political field, despite her age...by using agents and other faces, she commands power far beyond her years or individual ability. She has a friendly, amenable charisma to her that distracts somewhat from her murderous and bloody hands. She loves her family before all else, but those closest friends and allies are like family to her. It will be a difficult day when she has to choose one over the other.

[Ninkyoudo; "the Way of Chivalry"] "Family comes first."
The yakuza call themselves "ninkyou dantai" ("chivalrous organizations").

                      [Biography]

Omoikane Dai-Gakuin is a preparatory school in the capital of River Country, Metsubishi. The stringent codes of conduct, inspired mostly by conservative religious views, combined with top-notch international professors and a brilliant law program makes it one of the premiere schools for the children of the most influential and wealthy of individuals across the acting countries. Made of several schools on one complex, the high walls and beautiful gardens are frequently protected by the best samurai and ronin money can buy. Despite this illustrious pedigree, it’s a well-known open secret that the Omoukane Dai-Gakuin is almost exclusively bankrolled by the seediest of underworld sources. Omoikane Dai-Gakuin’s junior campuses, which serve children aged six to fifteen, are split into two gender-specific schools on each side of the campus, Izanagi Gakuin serving boys and Izanami Gakuin serving girls. The bulk of the campus is made up of the higher-learning schools, Ebisu Gakuin for finances, Hachiman Gakuin for strategy and tactics, Inari Gakuin for business and leadership, and Tenjin Gakuin for the arts. Undergraduates of Izanagi and Izanami schools often participate in mixed socials, intramural sports, and perform in the theatre and arts for an audience of the other school. Otherwise, they’re kept almost exclusively single-sexed until they graduate to one of the higher schools. Graduates of the Omoikane Dai-Gakuin can be found in all walks of the top percentage of earners and leaders in the international arena.

The students, staff, and shareholders of the Omoikane Dai-Gakuin schools almost exclusively swear their allegiance to Keisei Ranko, a rising senior to her final year of the preparatory program.

Keisei Ranko always wanted to be a singer. When she was still too young to understand the gravity of her Gift, and the burden that her family would have on her path, her only goal was to be a singer. She had a powerful voice, and it was easy to make comparisons to contemporary enka performers in her strength and beauty. She would perform for anyone who would ask to listen, eager and proud of her vocal training. It took no effort for the Family to get her a placement in Omoikane Dai-Gakuin, where she hoped to graduate from Izanami Gakuin and progress to Tenjin Gakuin to pursue her path as a modern idol. The school itself was delighted to have an other Keisei child in their halls, because it meant a steady stream of income from the Family.

Keisei Ranko always wanted to be a singer. Like most childhood dreams, these were crushed with the weight of the sad world that she wore on her shoulders.

An elite among the elite, the idea of political nuance and rivalry was a part of her life as soon as she was enrolled in the international school for the wealthy and powerful. She had always been trained to avoid the discussion of her family, adopting a false name Uchida Maaya to negate the conversation entirely...but in a pit of people from the best and worst examples of power of the world, it was an understood fact that she was a shadowchild of the powerful yakuza. Those from lesser families knew to give her a wide birth and to never get on her bad side, while those from rival families saw her as a target to test their own mettle. From day one, she was immersed in the backstabbing world of international politics. Despite the beautiful complex and the squeaky clean front-facing reputation, the Dai-Gakuin was the playground for the children of the underground. As was popular with noble children of the warring states era, she had been trained in a nominal amount of self-defense, and it wasn’t uncommon for her to notice watchful eyes in the halls and on the grounds...familiar faces, gangsters that belonged to the family, retainers, butlers she had known from a young age. That didn’t stop the feeling of isolation from setting in, separated by her birthright from having real relationships with people.

Weakness, abusers, slackers. All these words had been drilled into her by the Family as the worst of society, and the school seemed rife with them. People who would put their muscle before their mind, bullies who would try and subjugate others, petty alliances of the angry and jealous roaming the halls to target the blessed and chivalrous. Those that targeted Ranko finally found their mark, where the watchful eyes of her protectors and the school staff couldn’t save her: trapping her in a bathroom on the third floor. She suffered their abuse, fists pummeling her face and feet kicking into her back, huddled up in a ball on a wet floor, until she realized there was no penalty for slaughtering pigs. Her keepsake knife, a wakizashi given to her by her father, sang out with its razor edge. The girl she carved up wore her scars for a few weeks, before the persistent abuses turned to her – for her disfigured face – and she eventually transferred away from the school. That girl’s family soon disappeared from Metsubishi entirely. While it was known that it was Ranko that had carved her, she was untouched by the disciplinary systems of the school, either out of a respect that she had lashed out against her bullies...or out of fear for being disciplined by her Family. This realization made Ranko realize that she had a power beyond a knife or a family, and that the connections of laws and influence could be a shield for those who needed it. She shifted her focuses from the arts to the law programs available to her.

Kanbayashi Mayuko always regretted her admission to the school. Her family, while wealthy business moguls from the Fire Country, had no way of knowing the sick reality of the internal halls of the school when they sent their only daughter and heiress to the fortune to the preparatory school, eager for her to pursue her miko training at the school publicly famed for its reverence to the kami of the world. While she had the money to attend the school, she didn’t have the cruel edge or the veil of the underworld to protect her against the other groups. She, like Ranko, became a target for her otherness, both for her pious religion and her relatively benign parents. The day before the graduation ceremony from elementary to middle studies, she stood atop the clocktower and considered flinging herself off, to end the torment. Her family had worked too hard to get her to this school, so just going home wasn’t an option...and the others would have killed her, eventually, she wagered. Keisei Ranko discovered her there in that clock tower, a secret hideaway to practice her singing, and taught her one of the great truths of the world: personal weakness could be hidden by a Family of support. She reached out her hand, and made her first Bond with someone else, swearing her loyalty to the girl that would cut her way figuratively and literally through her enemies.

While in middle education, Ranko and Mayuko’s alliance was secured as they started to turn the tides of the internal politics of the students in their favor. There was always someone who was tired of being the target of some larger force of angry aggression, violence for the sake of violence. There was always someone who needed saving. It became a well-known fact of life that if you swore yourself to Ranko, that she would stick her neck out for you...and fearing her knife or her disciplinary immunity, she was like a living god herself, a protector for those that would sacrifice for her. It came to the point where Ranko couldn’t remember the last time she had an opportunity to practice her singing voice, but she would bury herself in lawbooks and her education provided by the school by day, and by night, roam the complex enforcing her iron will. You targeted one of her students, you got cut. You targeted them again, blackmail would build up so fast your only escape was leaving the school entirely or taking your own life to preserve some family honor. While she never used her Gift on those that swore themselves to her – valuing true loyalty over that gained by supernatural influence – she became adept at using the Gift to grease the right palms and minds to shift the world into her favor. Soon, the disciplinary squad of students was in her pocket, thrall to her sweet voice – these would be her enforcers, keeping the violence to the school at an all-time low through their brutal retribution. Martial law was in effect, and Ranko was the kingpin...but the majority of the school couldn’t seem to mind, because her martial law was in their favor. All you had to do was swear yourself to that charismatic girl and you could enjoy a relatively stress free life of study and comradery, like you had been promised on enrollment. She had realized the dream of the school, and that made her something of a mythical figure. Outside of her year, though, things were still sour.

Nakano Nagisa was familiar enough with the Keisei crime family to know the secret of “Uchida Maaya”. Her father was a slimy, desperate man in politics that had been on the Keisei take for years, and on occasion Nagisa and Ranko would encounter each other during Family events. Eyes caught across the room, matching school uniforms, they knew of each other, but that relationship was strictly business and had no ground inside the school. Nagisa was a senpai, ready to graduate herself to one of the higher schools, were rumor had it the violence and two-faced politics was an even stronger force. Her father, Nakano-san, had heard rumors that she had been sexually active with a boy from the Izanagi campus and took that as a tool he could use – he swore her body to one of the professors in the Ebisu Gakuin (finance school) in exchange for some cooked books. This trickled through the grapevine until Nakano was targeted for being an impure and easy girl in her year, and she became subjected to the jeers of the boys during the intramural events and objectified by her professors. When the Ebisu Gakuin professor made his way to the complex one night to collect his “reward” for cooking the books for her father, Ranko, Mayuko, and a crew of other underclassmen were waiting for him. After an unfortunate injury in the science lab, he retired from the school the next day. With Nagisa added to her Bond, Ranko’s influence started to spread among the upperclassmen halls.

Destroying the reputation of the Ebisu Gakuin professor finally made the staff of the school take notice of the moves of the young Keisei girl. Attempts were made to separate the primary trio or to find reasons to expel them, but Ranko had ways to find the worst secrets of those in the school’s employ – it seemed no one was truly who they seemed, and most all of them had garnered tenure at the school through their own criminal dealings. After all, the school itself was notorious for being on the take from any number of business enterprises, legal or not. When she turned her eyes to the staff, she soon at them squirming under her influence. Some, she used the Gift to seduce – others, she merely had to provide a manilla folder containing compromising photographs of staff engaged in lecherous acts with underage students, staff engaged in acts of gambling over blood sport, or – perhaps the worst, given the climate of River – but being on the take from more than one crime family. With her influence over the staff, none of her crew had to worry about authority hammering down on their actions. Most of the girls started to make modifications to their uniforms, dying their hair, or giving up the uniforms entirely. The squeaky clean face of the school was starting to crumble, which would destroy the profits of the shareholders at the very top. This elevated Ranko’s worries beyond the mere walls of the school, and made her an enemy of those with true power.

Kiku-ichimonji Juri was a young woman, an upperclassman attending the Hachiman Gakuin school during her stay at the Omoikane Dai-Gakuin. She was a loaner samurai, gaining free scholarship and board in exchange for a promised eight-year stint as a personal guard for the school. She was never happy about this arrangement, but she had been sold into the school’s program when she was six years old. While she was a powerful kenjutsu student and a sharp tactical mind, she had always dreamed of belonging to a higher cause, like the samurai of Iron...not protecting some criminal and corrupt religious school. She was bidden by her masters to infiltrate the Uchida Maaya gang under the guise of hired muscle and take out anyone she could without upsetting the status quo too much – members of the crew that weren’t beholden to bigger families, those that the Keisei influence wouldn’t protect. The idea of slaughtering schoolgirls for a school administration made her sick, but she didn’t really have a choice – but Ranko had been waiting for her. Ranko simply provided her with a document that was a testament to her law education, a careful dance of laws and loopholes that would render her contract to the school nullified, but maintain her opportunity for scholarship and board. It would mean, however, giving up her claim to her ancient samurai clan and to swear herself to Ranko herself. It was a no brainer for Juri.

With her three bonds and herself, she held a powerful influence over each major section of the school – the underclassmen, the graduating classes, and the higher education. Her spider’s web of influence quickly compounded through the students of the school, stretching out to their families. Through a mixture of simply using the children as agents to influence their parents to meeting with these parents themselves and making use of her subterfuge and blackmail or her Gift to bring even these powerful moguls under her will, her influence quickly grew exponentially. Each connection bringing dozens more, and dozen more on each of those. Despite her headquarters being a quiet dorm in a school, Ranko was soon manipulating businesses and culture across the acting countries. Inside the school was where she made her start – her own crew that had sworn themselves to her, as well as her three Bonds – her closest and most trusted allies, each with their own crews underneath them.

Her exemplary performance at the school, both academically and politically, rendered her an ideal candidate to take over the responsibilities of the Prince at the Table of the Keisei. With the Ienaga’s incarceration, there was a need to have representatives of the direct family line seated at the table – those who’s loyalty went beyond sworn bonds and mutual fear, but ran deep into the blood itself. Ranko operates outside of the school, with a majority of the underclassmen making up her crew when she’s there. The upperclassmen, staff, administration, and now even the shareholders are all on the Keisei take – and Ranko’s blackmail is a tighter leash than any physical manacle. She uses the grand libraries and the academic minds of the school to spread her will in the most nefarious way known to man: through the courtrooms and parliaments.

Keisei Ranko always wanted to be a singer. Like most childhood dreams, these were crushed with the weight of the sad world that she wore on her shoulders. As she blossomed towards adulthood, she realized a more beautiful and powerful dream: to reorder this sad world into something that her Family – and her newfound friends – can be comfortable in.

                        Post-Timeskip Yuu

                        Aim ever higher.

                        Hyuuga Yuu
This is the destiny of the Hyuuga clan.

                        Name: Hyuuga Yuu
                        Age: Fourteen
                        Sex: Male
                        Height: Five foot, six inches

Country/Village: Hi no Kuni / Konohagakure no Sato [Information]
                        Rank: Genin
                        Division: Omoi [Investigation]

                        Physical Description:
Due to the regal nature of the boy's heritage, even the most bold of the girls from his year wouldn't admit it, but Hyuuga Yuu is not a handsome man. He might become one, in time, but for his twelfth year of life, there's only one honest description of the boy's face: cute. The soft, warm skin of his cheeks angles neatly into a chin that's slowly growing in prominence on his face, but the happy king of his visage is his small nose and his clever, sly smile on his lips. Little ears poke out from carefully groomed hair and occasionally turn red from the beating sun above—leaving this child somewhat of a poster of Konoha youth. Adorable is easily the term you'd want to use, but you simply cannot.
                        He hot now.

For Hyuuga Yuu is defined almost entirely by his posture and movement. Even in the freeze-frame picture on his identification papers, even on the clever pseudo-3D artwork on is Ninja Info card, tucked away in classified information, even from the way the light catches his hair through the window on a lazy Autumn day, Hyuuga Yuu is almost intimidating. Beyond his cute face and expression, there is a cold awe in his form. His strong, broad shoulders would make it difficult to classify his androgynous beauty as 'female', and the muscles in his chest and stomach go on to define this near-fae as a boy. His arms look almost undefined until he puts them in motion, where his muscles seem reverent to his ivory skin before rippling into action, flexing and bulging for action. His legs, the most defined portion of his young body in his training, are attractive and unassuming for one moment, and ready to push the Earth away with a bounding jump in the next. Thanks to his years of training in Jyuuken, Yuu manages to combine elements of classical beauty and the frightening design of an experienced martial artist. This inhuman beauty is punctuated by his most dramatic of traits: the screaming tells of his bloodline.

Yuu's long, black hair is the defining mark of pride amongst the male warriors of his family. A Hyuuga who can wear his hair long and trailing behind the dancing movements of his taijutsu without posing the risk of an opponent grappling it is a true master of the form. It stands to reason that even before his mastery of Jyuuken, a Hyuuga is already growing out his hair. Proud Yuu has surpassed the shoulder line and has hair that falls deep into his shoulder blades, shining with luster and smooth to the touch. It's thickness is something of an oddity in his family, but by no means the mark of infidelity or bad genetics: It just gives him a more angular and defined silhouette amongst others.

While overall, the boy seems nothing more than an attractive young man with a focus on taijutsu, the most obvious trait on his form is something that makes him legendary, even outside the walls of his village and the political boundaries of his country. His milky white eyes (irises and all) are completely alien, flickering the sun's reflection in a haunting beauty. The first thought might be 'blindness', but when they focus on an individual, it feels as though every mental block is being melted away and every secret is bubbling to the focus—every inadequate flaw becomes apparent before the eyes of the young nobleman. The tell of the Byakugan makes the young boy scream out his heritage in his simple, quiet gaze—a gravity beyond expectations.

                        Clothing:
Blue 'n black, Konoha tattoo/seal, "old-fashioned" shinobi kit

                        Personality:

The elite sense of his family, the absolute dedication to being on top, the insane desire to remain 'pure', at least in his parent's eyes, absolutely rends the poor boy for a loop. Stress gets the better of him, and he takes it out on his studies. To study hard and to work hard means he's doing what his parents and the rest of the family expects, and most of the time he gets words of praise at the end of a day, so it's worth hitting the books hard and practicing the various aspects of the clan's taijutsu to the best of his ability. At school and in the days he's free to take some time off, he finds a bit of safety in the words of his friends, however few are actually sincere, and enjoys the typical 'young' boy things. In his days at the Academy, he had fun 'playing' ninja, and acting out favorite pairings of some of the tougher Academy Sensei that the children studied under, but he would never admit that to his parents. For Yuu, all he wants his parents to know is how well he is doing and how he would fair in a fight.

Manners, sophistication, and knowing that a child's place is doing whatever his parents command, remaining silent unless spoken too, and never to show emotion regardless of the situation at hand. His mantra, "Hold your tongue." For instance, he would never cry out in protest if told to do extra chores, nor would he offer a comment at a discussion he overheard. Never would he offer a suggestion to anyone older than him on the 'way things should be done'. Some might call him the ideal child, always obedient and absolutely meticulous in every task he undertook. Chores never had to be done twice, homework always completed, he always dressed properly for formal occasions, and his eyes never focused on anything but your own, if spoken to, and to his feet, if not spoken to. This is what his parents expected of him during his Academy days.

As a Genin, he's allowed a bit more freedom. His headband, marking his coming of age, also marked the beginning of his adulthood amongst his family. He still finds himself reserved, but he is no longer allowed the safety in looking at the floor. His eyes look straight ahead, and directly at points of attention. In some way, this is related to his parents wanting him to show that he had the perception, to the absolute smallest detail, that his clan held so high. As the only child, the entire weight of holding his parent's respect in the clan fell on his shoulders, and he knows it. As he moves, talks, and trains, the constant thought in his head is that he has to do the best he can at all times, work as hard as he can, and continue to fight on as hard as he can, regardless of the factors weighing against him. To tell his parents he had failed in whatever small detail would mean that his entire attempt had been failed.

Yuu is a genius, both in the academic sense and the shinobi sense, but he's too clouded by his worry over his reputation to realize it, but then again, it blankets his actions with a constant double-check to make sure everything is going to plan. He's one of the most kind-hearted people one could possibly hope to meet in Konoha, but his natural reserve and dedicated speech strike most as either shyness, or more commonly, a dignified silence. People, just by being around him, expect more from him socially then is actually there. Although he has had plenty of close friends to play with, he's never had a friend that he felt comfortable talking with.

His new found responsibility and freedom of being a Genin has granted one important factor to his personality: A respect for the community at large. Understanding the mission structure and the concept behind the hidden village more fully, he's able to hold deep respect for every member of the village, regardless of purity of blood or morals. To be a 'shinobi', to Yuu, means to be part of a beautiful machine, and he loves every working part of it. This grants him a level of selflessness that has yet to truly manifest, but to throw down his life for a comrade would be more than satisfactory for his record of right-and-wrong, and more than likely to satisfy his parents as the proper end to his career.

This love and respect for his fellow shinobi puts Yuu at an oddly mature point in his young years, understanding that for anyone to truly effect the world, they have to effect as many people in the world as possible. A strong desire in his heart is to help people, to make people smile, and to fix problems. Payment and reward of reputation is not his goal, nor is it prime on his list--his goal is to help make his Konoha as great as possible.

The user has a strange talent for hearing. They are capable of remembering sounds almost perfectly, and are capable of filtering out the ones that matter from those that don’t. In a crowded room they could focus their ears and eavesdrop on a whispered conversation, or listen for the footsteps of a stalker that they know is there. They must actively focus to make this work, and so it is rarely useful if they are caught by surprise.

                          Physical Description & Clothing:

She's glamorous, classy, and a total babe. She's kind of beautiful, if you think about it with that long and natural blonde hair and the most blue eyes ever. Yeah, she definitely got that from her mom. They're not just blue, but rather take on the lightest shade on can imagine. The iris is so light that the pupil contrasts it dramatically, adding a a small dark circle in each eye. Her reputation is completely the polar opposite of them because they look innocent while she is not.

She still looks like a child, a young child. Not in the baby kind of way, but she still carries those juvenile features. Her body, though, is way mature. Very curvy and slender, she is gorgeous. If she wanted to, she could enter a beauty pageant and win hands down.

She wears basically anything she can lay her hands on, but the outfit that she is most known for is the ripped skirt, long leather jacket, and the black bra. The jacket, which she obtained from her deceased father, hangs loosely over her body. From the various battles and fights, it has ripped a little and some fur fell off the collar, although it isn't so noticeable. Her skirt is almost completely ripped apart.

A studded belt keeps it from falling down her waist although it is starting to get old. And finally, the black bra is just a black bra with a small printed design outlining the top. Oh, and a while back she stole these really cool fingerless gloves that have a plaid design over them and have parts of leather sewed on. And lets see, her shoes she got a while back and they're just a knee high pair of black combat boots.

Yeah, she looks way hardcore... When she's not a ghost. As a ghost, she lives somewhere on Silent Hill and wears what she must. A long and velvet black cloak with a hood that she puts over her hair. And then, there's that hand-me-down that gives her the other face, another look on this so called reality. It is a plain white mask that gives her the worst nightmares.

In either outfits, she doesn't wear her hitai-ate.
                          Personality:

Sometimes, life comes at you rough, but you gotta be able to handle it. Complaining and whining, that's baby stuff. You gotta take it like a real man -- in Tomoe's case, a real bitch. Though not even old enough to drink legally, this girl has gone through what someone might not even be able to meet in their entire lives. But that don't mean that she's weak and afraid to take risks.

She's the opposite of a coward; she's a reckless daredevil who isn't afraid to get a concussion or two. The kunoichi will run in to any battle and is a bit carefree, however she definitely fits in the happy-go-lucky category. She's headstrong and ready to face on any challenge that is thrown at her.
Despite being such a daredevil, she is actually a very happy person. She smiles a lot and likes to share a good joke then and again. She can be flirtatious and a tease, but only on friendly terms so it's usually nothing but a fling. The kunoichi isn't afraid to talk to new people and make new friends so she's a social butterfly in a weird way. Well, at least that's one side of Tomoe.

The other side is one rarely seen, but is of the softest nature. She can be a fragile person, easily broken and sensitive. Very seldom to see Tomoe act this way, but if one catches a glimpse, that's the most they will ever get. If someone knows her well enough, they can break her apart and then put her back together if wanted.

However, the bitch won't let anyone handle her like that, although there is something that takes advantage of her in that state. It keeps her quiet and lives on her struggle, feeding it's own vanity.

                          -----------------------------------------

                          Biography:

She was a natural born killer, her pet fish died in two weeks, her kitten got sick and was put to sleep, and at seven years old her father died from leukemia and her mother ran away from her. As a young child, Tomoe had been traumatized. She had believed she was the Devil's Child or even a Carrier of Death. However, all that made her strong, so strong and so powerful.

                          And insane.

She had some distant relatives, like third cousin's removed or something, and she went to go live with them. A week later, their dog died. They sent her to the Shinobi Academy where she learned how to manipulate her so called gift. She scared everyone off with her exceptionally unique ideas and imagination. The teachers complained that she was different, but her relatives did nothing and just stayed silent. As soon as she graduated, they left her. They didn't move away, they died. Each in their own way collapsed to the ground and walked toward the light as Tomoe continued to move in to the darkness.

Her team was scared of her, her Sensei didn't know how to deal with her, so they sent her off to the Chuunin Exams on her own. She passed, obviously because death was on her side. This kind of perverse nature had never been viewed, but she didn't mind, she enjoyed it. She enjoyed knowing she was the spawn of the Devil. She liked smiling because she liked to see the reactions on other people's faces. Everyone knew about her. Everyone.

One day, someone decided to visit - her mother. Well, actually her mother just came back to visit the cemetery. As she walked back inside one of the sectors, their eyes met. The eye contact between mother and daughter had meant so much and brought out so much emotion. They both had been aware of one another, but had not even waved a hello. A month later, Tomoe received news that her mother had committed suicide. She set up a funeral, but did not attend.

Instead, she chose a mission to catch two rogue shinobi from Amegakure and bring them back or kill them. She chose the easy way out and killed them by tricking them in to tripping off a cliff. She brought their bodies back for evidence and a few weeks later was promoted from Chuunin to Jounin rank for doing exceptionally well.

So she continued doing work and missions, until one day... She cracked. She was a bomb ready to explode and all her emotions spilled out along with attacks. She didn't kill people, knowing she'd lose her license as a shinobi so she went up ground and killed animals. Somebody found her pulling the intestines out of one and handed her something.

Her bloody fingers stained the pure white, but there was no innocence to begin with. The kunoichi put it on and let the tears slide down her cheeks. No one could see them anyway. She found out she has no soul, but it really doesn't bother her.

They explained to her and she listened obediently. The only reason she really was this quite was because of her new gift, that mask. From that day on, the girl was haunted, followed by shadows that wouldn't disappear in the dark and the sense of paranoia that would leave her with barely any sleep. She was afraid, for the first time in her life.

A day afterward, she received a letter from her late mother. It had been sent a few years ago, and only until then had arrived to her.

                          Dear Tomoe,
I'm sorry for leaving you, but I had to. After giving birth to you, my life had almost been over, but I survived miraculously. To tell you the truth, I loved you so much even since I ever left. No matter how much has died with you around, you were my only daughter. Despite how much your guardians complained to me, I couldn't come back to you. I couldn't raise you, I knew I would do a bad job and kill you one night. I wanted to kill you so much, that's why I left. Tomoe-chan, you are a monster.
She placed the letter in a drawer under all her clothes and continued to erase all that was left of her existence. Every now and then, she admires it. Blame it on the contaminated wisdom, but this is the business of Higashi Tomoe.
                          //29.1.14//

Following the dissolution of the Youkai, Higashi Tomoe found herself without a true home. Time alone gave her time for introspection, which proved to push her deeper and deeper into depression. Eventually, she locked herself up in her room, a dirty and undecorated place, and spent hours a day carefully polishing her mask. She believed she had wronged it, somehow. That it was punishing her for a lack of effort. In time, however, as Amegakure's efforts against it's own country proved dire, there came a need for someone of her skills. A courier, someone who's face was unknown but voice was familiar, came to her door, entreating her to an audience for the Kage of Rain, the recently appointed Ayame.

Ayame was someone that Tomoe had known personally, for what amounted for friendship in the head of the girl. Ayame, perhaps desperate to use every ounce of Rain's military given the civil conflict and external pressures of the greater shinobi community, saw fit to fetch her. Appointing her to a team might be madness, but making use of her skills fostered after a lifetime of murder was appropriate, given the situation of the village. Some might call her a lapdog, a weird psychological exercise for the young Kage, others might whisper her name with a twisted sense of fear. But the duality of Tomoe is leashed securely in the service of Amegakure—either as a dog in a kennel or a Cerberus protecting the underworld.

                            Nara Clan

The greater the light of the fire, the greater the shadow
                            [Clan Symbol]
                            The Nara Clan of Konohagakure

                            Clan History:

Of the great clan houses of modern Konohagakure, the Nara remains one as one of the oldest - - maintaining an intimate relationship with the Akimichi clan that survives into the current day. Famously secretive, the true nature of the Nara clan’s importance to the village could be easily overlooked by a casual observer. Compared to their ancestral friendship in the Akimichi clan, those frontline fighters with overwhelming strength, the Nara tend to be found in the shadows, tending to the deer of the Nara forest or researching medicine in the relative peace of secluded studies and research centers. While many might whisper of their deadly, ensnaring shadow manipulation techniques, the greatest value the Nara clan has provided their mother village over the years has been their wisdom and intelligence. Every generation of Nara seems to produce some of the brightest tactical minds - - if only the right teachers can coax it out of the famously stubborn and passive clan.

Making up part of the traditional administration of the village, Nara tend to be seen in positions all through the divisions and ranks of Konohagakure. From studious researchers to strict librarians and impassioned lecturers, it’s never uncommon to see a representative of the Nara clan in any given field that offers them the opportunity to work and grow at their own face. Like a bonsai tree, the Nara clan tends to flourish with careful, meticulous care over a long period of time. Most noticeably, the position of “Assistant to the Hokage” is almost exclusively filled by a Nara representative, a position so steeped in the bureaucracy of the village that it seems to be tailor made to represent the friendship of the clan to the village itself. Recent years of strife in the administration offices of the Hokage itself have caused internal conflicts inside the village, with various Nara of various sects of the village coming to different opinions on what would be best for the village in the future. If any clan was best suited to feel the thrum of the heartbeat of the village, to feel the changes in tempo in the song of the forest, it would be the Nara Clan.

In addition to the intimate connection with the Akimichi, there was once a third clan known as the Yamanaka that made part of the trio of Konoha’s must trusted houses of shinobi. While a majority of those great shinobi members of the clan had been tragically lost in a year centuries past, a part of their culture and blood remains protected and sheltered by the Nara clan itself. You can find whispers of it in the most proud examples of Nara blood - - a penchant for flowers, a trademark of this fallen clan; and a streak of Nara with brilliantly blonde or white hair, in contract to the traditional dark tones. These variations are a mark of pride, for the Nara, Yamanaka, and Akimichi clan is a proud foundation of Konoha as a whole.

Members of the Nara and the Akimichi clan are gifted special, matching earrings from the older clans of the village - - particularly those with famous Hokage in their ranks, or powerful bloodlines, like the Hyuuga - - in a coming of age ceremony when ever new shinobi achieve the rank of chuunin. These special earrings are used to swear an oath to the village itself, and two both clans mutually. Nara (and Akimichi) wearing these earrings are considered adults by their clans, but also carry on the will of fire past down to them from their forefathers. These simple accessories represent hundreds of years of loyalty and valiant protection of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Where the Sanada have settled here, and the Hyuuga are allied to the village - - it can be said that the Nara and Akimichi clans are the “heart” of Konohagakure.

This is an honored title that they hold in the greatest pride.

(Even if it can be a bit of a drag.)

                            Clan Description:

A typical example of a Nara clansman wears his dark (brown, black, gray) hair back in a samurai-inspired ponytail or topknot. This style can be seen shared with some members of the Akimichi (at least before they use their hair for ninjutsu), and with the Hyuuga clan, and deviations from this norm tend to hold some weight as a rebellion not only against the Nara clan itself, but also these allied clans. Typically of a lanky, tall build that contracts them to the typical builds of the Akimichi, the pairings of Akimichi and Nara clansmen tend to cut an impressive contracts to each other.

The Nara clan uniform is what tends to be known as the “Konohagakure” shinobi uniform by most outsiders, although the Nara tend to favor the colors gray as opposed to the blue, black, and green of other Konoha shinobi. Their clan symbol can be worn at the discretion of the shinobi themselves, as some tend to feel more strongly allied to the village itself than the internal politics of their clans. This isn’t seem as a slight against the family or a form of rebellion: simply making a choice between the two families each Nara belongs to, the clan and their village.

Most all adult Nara wear specialized earrings granted to them by the other administrative clans of Konohagakure. These represent adulthood, loyalty, and their special connection with the other founding clan, the Akimichi.

Atypical Nara clansmen come in all shapes and sizes, since it’s not unheard of for Nara to marry and bear children with those outside of the village. Those who carry on the bloodline of the fallen Yamanaka clan, in particular, boast sharp blonde hair and lighter colored eyes compared to their more traditionally blooded kin. The Nara clan sees these blonde Nara with a great pride - - they represent the study traditions of the clan itself, and the integration of the people of Konoha.

                            Clan Grounds:

The mountains that border Konohagakure hold hidden valleys and secret groves with twisting, possibly enchanted paths that harmlessly direct lost travelers away from the grounds of the Nara clan. It’s said that only a Nara can safely explore these grounds, and ancient seals and rites make the very mountains themselves treacherous to any that might try and infiltrate them. It is here, in these many hidden pockets of mountainous land, that one might find carefully tended gardens of beautiful and rare flowers – a legacy of the Yamanaka clan – and the deer from which the Nara take their name and greatest traditions. These Nara-bred and tended deer are an extinct species anywhere outside of these protected groves, great and mythically powerful beasts that are rumored to protect the Nara’s secret grounds themselves with magic and illusion. For sure, their antlers themselves are the root to several panaceas and secret medical techniques: these traded sometimes with the medical clans of Konohagakure, but mostly kept in secret while the full nature of their affects are studied. Most famous of the Nara medicines is the Akimichi food pills, one of the few Nara medicines that are freely traded to anyone outside of the clan. Of course, many Nara wouldn’t even consider the Akimichi as “outside of the clan”.

In addition to these tending groves are massive, hidden labyrinths of research facilities. Outside of the protection of the Nara deer and rituals, these do tend to be infiltrated by curious spelunkers or even nefarious agents from time to time. Typically, any current or particularly troubling information is stored inside of Konoha warehouses in the village - - at the worst of the worst hidden in the magically protected deer groves - - but there is said that there’s pages and pages of forgotten information, hidden techniques, and remarkable breakthroughs to be found, inside all the traps and twisting corridors. Since the facilities are so big, and so numerous, and so remote in the mountains, a dedicated guard would be an impossible task. There’s adventure to be had here, both for members inside and outside of the clan, allies and opponents to Konohagakure as a whole.

Inside the village proper, the Nara hold a small housing complex dotted by the trees of their forests. These houses are old, and match the older sections of Konohagakure themselves. There’s only a few dozen (if that many) active Nara at any given time, and their houses are relatively small to reflect that.

                            Name: The Nara Clan

                            Village: Hidden Leaf Village

                            Techniques: Shadow Manipulation

                            Characteristics:
The Hidden Village of Leaf’s very own Nara clan has a quite a bit of history behind it, and certainly more than its fair share of character. Before I go any further though, I would like to make one thing clear: the Nara is not a balanced clan where the power and its affairs our dealt with equally…oh no…the Nara clan is almost completely Matriarchal. This little detail is rooted deep within the Clan’s dominant personality traits – it’s a family tradition for all Nara men to be exceptionally lazy (though highly intelligent) and many of them would much rather take a break, rest in the sun or do some low effort activities like gardening or chess.

As you can imagine, nothing would ever get done in a clan like this and they certainly wouldn’t rise to power, spend any time researching their own techniques, and hell would freeze over before they invested in any clan traditions (that would require commitment and actual work). All of this would be true, but for one crucial fact: there are Nara women. In many ways the women of the Nara clan take a 180 degree shift. They are not lazy or unmotivated and they sure ain’t submissive. Quite the opposite in fact.

Yes, Nara women wear the pants in this particular relationship.

And that’s pretty much how things are done round these ‘ere parts. Not that anyone minds the status quo of course – it’s just the way things are – and you wouldn’t expect to find an unhappy couple in a Nara family (if only because one side can’t be bothered to make a fuss…much too troublesome after all). So consequently, the Nara do have traditions, do go to social gatherings and do take an active part in village politics – even if the guys have to get dragged their by the ears.

As for looks, all born and bred Nara are gifted with long black hair and their eye colour varies naturally – as does their build – and overall they maintain a very normal look (not inhuman like some clans at any rate).

                            Nara Archetype
                            Primary/Secondary/Tertiary = Chakra/Mental/Phsycial

Primary Merit: Gain Kage Mane for free
Stat Merits: +2 intelligence, +1 power
Stat Flaws: -1 strength, -1 stamina, -1 speed

Not a physically inclined clan to be certain, the Nara are nevertheless well versed in using their chakra as well as their clan techniques, and most, if not all, are incredibly intelligent.

                              Sanada Desperado
(The Desperado can take the Sanada Clan Bloodline and Techniques)
Combo Archetype: Sanada Clan Specialist + Daredevil
Special: Once per thread, the Desperado can completely ignore all rules of damage for a single post by virtue of an innate response from their Celestial Body. This can mean completely ignoring a point blank hit thanks to rapid regeneration, or going hard in the paint and ignoring grievous, crippling injuries to move and strike as normal by a hasty patch-work repair (as with the Daredevil archetype special), and so on. By expending a Kawarimi Usage (and a Stage 1 Jutsu usage), the Desperado can repeat this feat up to two more times.

The Sanada Desperado is a tireless warrior, who selflessly throws herself into the chaos of combat to protect her friends. She has a simple zen mantra: "Nana korobi, ya oki!" Fall seven times, get up eight.

"Anemone" no Jisou (Aspect of "Anemone")
                              Hedgehog's Dilemma
                              Stage X
The Sanada takes a powerful defensive stance and rapidly extends a series of rotating, drill-like spears from all around her body that extend about the length of a typical katana, unable to move while these spears threaten all that would come into her personal space. She has enough control over these spears to the point where she won’t accidentally impale a target, but they boil and erupt out of her skin in a different pattern each time, rendering it a successful defensive technique under repeat assault. This technique allows the Sanada to create these drill weapons with her other evolution and metamorphosis techniques inside the Sanada list. Drills are blades equal to the length appropriate to the technique, which spin rapidly for additional piercing power, but are easily snapped and broken. Drills do not confer a specific mechanical advantage, merely a cosmetic one.
Stage X+1: These drills come out about the length of a spear.

                              Hissatsu! Doriru! (Certain Kill! Drill!)
                              Not quite THIS big...
                              Stage X (5?)
Requirements: Hensei (Stage 2) for “natural” limbs, Fukuzatsu Hensei for created limbs, Souseiki

The flesh splits open from one of the Sanada’s limbs, and the bone and meat beneath rapidly reconfigures to a large, spinning drill, spinning under the power of a fleshy motor organ at the base. As the drill spins up to full speed, some of the excess daughter cells passively created by Souseiki start to burn with sparkling lights, releasing intense amounts of power. This drill has destructive piercing capabilities similar to Chidori, and it can clash handily with other strike-type ninjutsu techniques where appropriate (such as Rasengan). Rather than the enhanced speed of Chidori or the incredible knockback power of Rasengan, the Sanada’s Drill can be detached inside of a hit target or launched like a projectile and explodes afterwards as the remaining cells of the Sanada detonate their chakra all at once. The Sanada pays for this payload by sacrificing the materials used to make the drill - - leaving a bloody, bleeding stump in the wake.

Kinjutsu! Katon: Jikou Gisei (Forbidden Art! Flame Release: Self Immolation)
                              Something like this!
                              Stage X
A deadly technique that can kill the user of the chakra isn’t molded to perfection, declared a “forbidden technique” by a Hokage in the past. This technique was rediscovered and, combined with the Sanada Clan’s ability to self-regenerate, has been developed into a powerful supportive art for the most reckless of the clan. After forming a series of mudra, ending on the ninja handsign for dragon, the very skin of the shinobi becomes a deadly, burning weapon.

Hairline orange cracks appear on the surface of the shinobi’s body, that split and erupt like small rivers of lava from head to toe. When engaged in personal combat, the shinobi’s skin erupts in katon splutters of blood and flesh when struck or impaled, sticking to the striking limb or weapon like wet fire. This napalm-like effect persists until completely cleaned away, a slow-burning jelly that can slowly burn through flesh and armor. Some victims, desperate to survive this technique, have been known to cut away affected limbs or tear off their clothing before it impacts their body.

The pain from this technique can be ignored with a single Stage 3 Usage of the Sanada Clan’s Shikeshou (Nervous Disorder), but the burning flesh must be constantly repaired each post this technique remains active with a constant Shinsei (Rebirth), costing a Stage 3 usage each post, or the flesh will burn and harden and become useless for this technique. This technique lasts until it’s willed to stop or the shinobi is knocked unconscious, or they run out of Stage X charges (even though this technique only uses one Stage X usage to activate.) Without Shikeshou, the self-inflicted pain halves the shinobi's Taijutsu Speed Scaling, and without regeneration, this technique can only be active for a single post before the skin no longer can contain the technique's effects, making it historically a last-ditch method to kill a target already performing a final blow on the user.

Katon: Minagoroshi Gaitou (Flame Release: Holocaust Cloak)
                              I’ll take that!
                              Stage X
After performing a series of mudra, ending on the shinobi handsign for rooster, a flaming scarf appears around the user’s neck, flowing freely behind them even without the presence of the wind. Notably, the scarf doesn’t cast any light or catch any mundane items aflame. This “cloak” remains active until the user dismisses it or runs out of Stage X charges. It wraps around the user to burn away any Stage 4 Ninjutsu (or lower) attack that the user can sense (but it does not act independently from the user), and can be immediately, passively refreshed with an additional Stage X usage. The scarf’s end can be thrown, growing from where it wraps around the user’s neck, to protect an ally from ninjutsu as well. This technique can be prematurely ended if it’s snatched from the user’s neck, but it erupts with the force of a Stage 4 Katon when it does - - immolating both the attacker and the user in a singular pillar of flame.
